克服心理障碍
很多朋友在开口讲英语时，尤其是和"老外"交流的时候，都会表现出一种很不自然的紧张，即我们大家说的怯场(stagefright)，其实这大可不必。我自己的经验发现，英语母语人士在听一个非母语的人的表达时，在80%的时间里他根本不在乎对方的用词、句式，而是关注对方的关键信息(keypoint)，所以在外籍人士面前讲口语，大可不必有紧张心理。
先练口语再练听力
学好英语，口语和听力一样都不能少，那么到底哪个更为重要呢？作为一个想练好口语的人，最为有效的方法就是你必须能说出来，先学会说，然后再去听。因为你必须有自己的语言储备，你的听力才会在你的英语思维慢慢增长的过程中自然而然地成熟。
要注意时态
英语的语法是很多人都很苦恼的问题，其实它很简单，无疑分为两部分，即时态和语态，英语中的每一个句子都是这两部分作用的共同体。其中，英语母语的人对时态尤其敏感，我们一定要在练*口语的过程中严格把好这一关。我的一个澳大利亚朋友，在一次聚会上随便提了一句："Ihadcancer"，意思是"我得过癌症"，隐含的意思是"现在已无大碍，身体很正常了"，因为他用的是过去时；但当时几乎在场的每一个人因为对时态不很敏感，以为是"Ihavecancer"(我现有癌症)的意思而表现得非常吃惊，产生了不小的误会。
嘴快才能说得流利
最后一点，就是口语练*中的语速。如何能最有效最快捷地达到英语脱口而出的境界？这就是一个语速的问题。在刚开始练*口语时，要让自己做到嘴快嘴勤，在有限的时间里，尽量用最快的速度"喷"出一段话。如果你能说出一段含有100多个单词的话的时候，你离"模糊英语"的境界也就不远了.
英语是不需要“攻读”的，需要的是“熟练”，要把学英语当作一个体力活，要尽可能多地去接触英语材料，不管是听的、读的、写的和说的，接触的多了，实践的多了，英语水*自然也会不断提高。
1.为什么能听懂*人的英语，却不能听懂老外的英语?
我们听不懂*各省方言，就因为大家语音标准不一致，对别人的语音标准不熟悉，当然互相听不懂。当我们说的"*英语"和老外的英语语音效果不一致时，才互相不容易听懂。当我们去掉方言口音，把英语说得清晰，再由清晰到含糊，和老外说得完全一致(一样清晰，一样含糊)，也就是当我们对老外慢速、清晰的语音和快速、含糊的语音特别熟悉时，才能互相听得懂。事实上，在英、美、加、澳等国，绝大部分人说的是含糊不清英语方言。而任何含糊的方言都来自于它的根--清晰的标准话。所以一定要学*标准的英语语音，彻底抛弃*英语，才更容易听懂其它的英语方言口音。如果你说你的"*英语"，他说他的"某国英语"当然互相不明白。
2.为何勤奋练*，口语还不流利? “模仿是的方法”?
多数人说汉语时都不够灵牙利齿，学*外语时，才发现舌、齿、唇运动不灵活。按播音和医学原理，让唇、舌、下颌、喉、胸、腹等整个发声器官每一块肌肉、关节，从根本上改善其灵活度、协调性。口齿能力提高后。学*任何语言都容易。假如说汉语都咬字不清、方言重，如不先改善口齿能力--语言天赋，怎么能把别的语言说呢?过去只盲目地练*熟练性，没掌握技巧性，才影响了流利性!听力天赋不好，容易受*音、调干扰，模仿不好，说“*英语”。要想真正达到口语的清晰流利，只有从基本语音开始，有了清晰标准的语音和拼读组合音技巧，才有单词和长句的口语整体感觉。就象盖房子是砖头决定大厦，而不是大厦决定砖头。
3.为什么老外声音和我们不一样，模仿不上来?
老外的声音为什么响亮、有底气，好像从口腔后面发出来的，或者像唱歌一样好听，或者觉得怪怪的，学不上来?华侨孩子的语音为什么听起来是老外?其实去观察学过声乐、表演、台词、播音、戏曲等声音艺术的人，他们同样可以发出这种音质来说话。学会科学的呼吸、发声*惯让我们终生受益，唱歌时音域加宽，唱出比以前更低和更高的音。说话有底气，从而让别人听起来你是有信心、有能力的，而让自己形象更高大，同时更促进、增强了自信心。
4.为什么单个音像老外，连在一块就不像?
连读是摆脱课堂英语，达到流利、快速的重要途径之一。做为熟练的使用者可以把英语说得含糊，而清晰的标准话是以英语国际标准音构成的语言。所以做为学*者，应该在掌握英语标准音后，才有资格学*连读的技巧，如果没掌握准确、到位的发音动作过程，却急于学*连读的技巧，就会弄巧成拙。把标准语音读错了，不是越连越错嘛!正因为过去只模仿得“像”老外，才“不是”老外。众多不标准、不到位的音快速连在一块读时，就暴露出错误来：越来越不像老外。控制单词、句子的节奏、速度：学会把该连的音，该连的词连在一块读，而该断开的音、该断开的词停顿的技巧。
练*英语口语最靠谱的五个步骤
第一步：大量背诵原汁原味的单句、对话、生活*语。
第二步：把每天背诵过的素材反复消化，借助想像力，身临其境把它们表演出来。
第三步：写日记。这个*惯看上去练*的是写作，其实它更是练*口语的妙法。当你动笔的同时，你的大脑正在激烈地做着英文体操。用英文进行思维是高级的口语训练方法。
第四步：大量阅读报刊、杂志及各种故事、杂文，之后将它们复述出来。(超级提示：是“复述”而非“背诵”。)同一篇文章的复述工作应该反复滚动。
第五步：一年左右逐渐过渡到用英文进行日常的思维活动。每当遇到不会的词、句就记录在本子上，集中解决，并定时更新、复*。
例如，在今天要学的第一个*惯用语里shakes就是名词，而且根据*惯这个短语里的shake还带有复数词尾-s。这个*惯用语是：no great shakes。No great shakes这个*惯用语听来意思是没引起多大的震动。换句话说也就是*凡普通、中不溜秋的东西或者事情。
我们来听个例子。说话的人在对朋友评论自己昨晚看的一场电影。我们听听他是否欣赏这部片子。
例句-1：Well, it was no great shakes. The story was mediocre and the acting was just so-so. I was bored except for that new actress - she can’t act but she’s a beautiful woman.
他说：嗯，这片子毫不出色。故事情节一般，演技也不过如此。除了里面的一位新的女明星之外，其它方面都让我觉得腻烦。这位新星不会演戏，但她是个美女。
这里他用了*惯用语no great shakes表示这电影毫不出色、相当*庸。
我们再听个例子。这段话在谈运动，说话的人最心爱的棒球队是波士顿的红袜队，只是听来红袜队今年的战绩让他很扫兴。
例句-2：I thought the Red Sox had a real chance to win the World Series this year after so long without a championship. But they turned out to be no great shakes, just like last year.
他说：我原以为红袜队那么久没有得过冠军，今年一定有可能在世界职业棒球锦标赛中赢得胜利，但是他们却和去年一样成绩**。
这里的no great shakes意思是成绩**，并不出人头地。听来这个失望的球迷只能耐心地再等上一年了。
今天要学的第二个*惯用语是：shake a leg。在Shake a leg这个*惯用语里，shake显然是个动词，照字面意思看shake a leg就是晃动一条腿。我们听下面的例子来捉摸*惯用语shake a leg是什么意思吧。这是大学生在叫醒早上贪睡不起的室友Bob。注意他话里的shake a leg：
例句-3：Bob! Hey, Bob, wake up! It’s already 9:30 and you’ve got that big math test at 10 o’clock. Come on, man, shake a leg! Come on, - you’ve got to get moving right now!
他使劲叫醒Bob，因为已经到九点半了，而Bob十点有数学大测验。时间紧迫，所以他要Bob必须立刻行动起来。
显然他说shake a leg，是催促Bob赶快行动。这就是这个*惯用语的意思。
再听个例子。说话的人正焦灼不安地在房间里来回踱步，又一而再、再而三地看手表，他终于按捺不住，对在里屋磨蹭个没完没了的太太发话了，注意他话里也用了shake a leg：
例句-4：Honey, we’d better shake a leg. The wedding is at eleven and it takes an hour to drive there. It’s already 10:15 so we better get moving because we’re already late!
他和太太要去参加定在十一点举行的婚礼。他们开车去那儿要一个钟点。而现在已经十点一刻了。他催促太太赶快开步走，因为他们已经晚了。
这段话里的*惯用语shake a leg意思显然也是赶快行动，可见shake a leg是用来催促旁人加快行动的。它是非正式的语言，常用在家人和老朋友之间。
对于很多口语学*者，在初学阶段的进步是很大的。因为在这一阶段，所学的都是生活中熟悉的话题，基本的词汇表达学*让口语进步明显。
但是几个月之后，英语口语学*就进入了一个瓶颈期：听力不行，听什么材料都只能听懂一星半点;词汇匮乏，在口语表达时，经常出现因为词汇量欠缺而导致的卡壳;语法不通，说的句子要么根本不讲语法，要么乱用语法规则…
很多口语学*者在这个阶段会自然而然的认为，自己是学不好口语了，于是选择了放弃。
其实，这是一个令人可惜的错误选择，因为这种种迹象都表明你已经无比接*口语学*的第一次进阶，即将完成由初级到中级的过渡。只要冲破这个坎，就会惊奇的发现口语完成了一次飞跃。
在这个阶段，我们最需要做的不是“眉毛胡子一把抓”，强迫自己学*;也不是“破罐子破摔”，干脆放弃;而是需要端正自己的心态，客观地评价自己的口语水*，并找准自己英语学*中的弱项，重点突破。
比如，你发现自己经常出现想说却说不出的情况，就证明你的英语词汇积累太有限了，想要表达的词汇全部都不清楚或不确定;又或者，你发现自己说句子完全是逻辑混乱的，是简单单词的拼凑，那就证明你的语法不通，在表达时还没有养成使用正确语法规则的*惯。
初级英语学*者在这个阶段，要烧好“三把火”。
第一，词汇。俗话说的好，“巧妇难为无米之炊”。词汇是英语学*的基础，没有词汇的积累，英语学*只能是简单的重复。绝大多数*学生背单词都只记单词的读音、拼写以及其最常用的中文意思。
但是我们需要了解的不仅仅是这些，同时也要知道单词的常见搭配和表达。所以，背单词远比单纯的重复读音和拼写复杂，需要记住至少一个单词的使用方法。其实，最好的方法就是背例句，这样不仅记住了单词，还能记住单词在句子中的表达，岂非一举两得?
第二把火，就是语法。语法在*学生眼里要么重于泰山，要么轻于鸿毛，一直处于很两级的状态。我们需要记住的是，口语学*一定要学语法，但是不用学得太深，用得太复杂。
