I’m very honored to stand here and give you a short speech! To begin with ,I want to ask a question .Does everybody dream a good dream last night? Actually ,today I want to talk about dream with you. Of course, What I want to talk is not a dream you have last night,but a dream—— about life.
Everyone has dreams about life, different dreams at different life stage,and we need dreams to support us. Dreams are like the stars we never reach in the sky,but like most mariners(水手),we can chart our course by them. With the dream,we have a direction,with a direction, we were no longer confused.With the dream, there is hope,With hope, we have the strength to fight.
I have a dream: To be a doctor.,because doctor may relieve the pain of patients. May let the human change the health. At the same time, I believed that, those who help others may be able to obtain joyfully. Therefore, I hoped in the near future ,I might be a doctor.
But I know,life is tough,and there are always ups and downs, maybe we fail in the way to our aims,and we may feel depressed ,whenever at this time, the dream in our heart can always comfort us, encourage us ,and support us to move ahead .
Young!Fortunately, I am young now. Just due to it, I know that nothing is impossible.I firmly believe that nothing can stand in my way. If I can't realize my dream,it result from that I haven't work harder enough and I won't find other excuses. If no people believe you, you can make it to prove that you are right. First, I would like to know, what does your destiny offer you? Happiness, wisdom, a strong body or something else. If I had asked this question to president Nixon, he would probably had said,”Our destiny offers not the cup of despair, but the chalice of opportunity.” Needless to say, one of the biggest opportunities given to China is the 20xx Olympic Games. Till now, we have used two sevenths of the preparation time. How much changes have you seen? New roads, new subway lines, public-exercising equipments with beautiful colors, large blocks of grass fields, and also lots of modern gyms which are under construction. Other than those, there are even more good effects brought to us by the Olympic Games that cannot be seen directly. For example, more and more people will get to know China. I’m sure the mysterious Chinese culture will attract them strongly. And the games will also do good to the economy and environment, for it is gaining the attention of foreign investors and the awareness of environmental protection is being strengthened. the title of my speech today is “the doors that are open to us ”.
the other day my aunt paid me a visit. she was overjoyed. “i got thehighest mark in the mid-term examination!” she said. don't be surprised! my auntis indeed a student; to be exact, a college student at the age of 45.
last year, she put aside her private business and signed up for a one-year,full-time management course in a college. “this was the wisest decision i haveever made,” she said proudly like a teenage girl. to her, college is always aright place to pick up new ideas, and new ideas always make her feel young.
“compared with the late 70s,” she says, “now college students have manydoors.” my aunt cannot help but recall her first college experience in 1978 whencollege doors began to be re-opened after the cultural revolution. she wasassigned to study engineering despite her desire to study chinese literature,and a few years later, the government sent her to work in a tv factory.
i was shocked when she first told me how she (had) had no choice in hermajor and job. look at us today! so many doors are open to us! i believe therehave never been such abundant opportunities for self-development as we havetoday. and my aunt told me that we should reach our goals by grasping all theseopportunities.
the first door i see is the opportunity to study different kinds ofsubjects that interest us. my aunt said she was happy to study management, butshe was also happy that she could attend lectures on ancient chinese poetry andon shakespearean drama. as for myself, i am an english major, but i may also goto lectures on history. to me, if college education in the past emphasizedspecialization, now, it emphasizes free and well-rounded development of eachindividual. so all the fine achievements of human civilization are open tous.
the second door is the door to the outside world. learning goes beyondclassrooms and national boundaries. my aunt remembers her previous college daysas monotonous and even calls her generation “frogs in a well.” but today, as theworld becomes a global village, it is important that our neighbors and we beopen-minded to learn with and from each other. i have many fellow internationalclassmates, and i am ap***ing to an exchange program with a university abroad.as for my aunt, she is planning to get an mba degree in the united kingdom whereher daughter, my cousin, is now doing her master's degree in biochemistry. weare now taking the opportunity to study overseas, and when we come back, we'llput to use what we have learnt abroad.
the third door is the door to lifelong learning. as new ideas appear allthe time, we always need to acquire new knowledge, regardless of our age.naturally, my aunt herself is the best example. many of my aunt's contemporariessay that she is amazingly up-to-date for a middle-aged woman. she sim***responds, “age doesn't matter. what *** is your attitude. you may think it'sstrange that i am still going to college, but i don't think i'm too old tolearn.” yes, she is right. since the government removed the age limit forcollege admissions in _, there are already some untraditional students, sittingwith us in the same classrooms. like these people, my aunt is old but she isvery young in spirit. with her incredible energy and determination, she embodiesboth tradition and modernity.
the doors open to us also pose challenges. for instance, we are faced withthe challenge of a balanced learning, the challenge of preserving our finetradition while learning from the west, and the challenge of learningcontinuously while carrying heavy responsibilities to our work and family. so,each door is a test of our courage, ability and judgment, but with the supportof my teachers, parents, friends and my aunt, i believe i can meet the challengehead on. when i reach my aunt's age, i can be proud to say that i have walkedthrough dozens of doors and will, in the remainder of my life, walk through manymore. possibly i will go back to college, too.

一、春节的来历：
春节，是农历的岁首，春节的另一名称叫过年，是中国最盛大、最热闹、最重要的一个古老传统节日，也是中国人所独有的节日。是中华文明最集中的表现。自西汉以来，春节的*俗一直延续到今天。春节一般指除夕和正月初一。但在民间，传统意义上的春节是指从腊月初八的腊祭或腊月二十三或二十四的祭灶，一直到正月十五，其中以除夕和正月初一为高潮。如何过庆贺这个节日，在千百年的历史发展中，形成了一些较为固定的风俗*惯，有许多还相传至今。在春节这一传统节日期间，我国的汉族和大多数少数民族都有要举行各种庆祝活动，这些活动大多以祭祀神佛、祭奠祖先、除旧布新、迎禧接福、祈求丰年为主要内容。活动形式丰富多彩，带有浓郁的民族特色。 春节的来历有一种传说，中国古时候有一种叫“年”的怪兽，头长触角，凶猛异常。“年”长年深居海底，每到除夕才爬上岸，吞食牲畜伤害人命。因此，每到除夕这天，村村寨寨的人们扶老携幼逃往深山，以躲避“年”兽的伤害。有一年除夕，从村外来了个乞讨的老人。乡亲们一片匆忙恐慌景象，只有村东头一位老婆婆给了老人些食物，并劝他快上山躲避“年”兽，那老人笑道：“婆婆若让我在家呆一夜，我一
定把?年?兽撵走。”老婆婆仍然继续劝说，乞讨老人笑而不语。 半夜时分，“年”兽闯进村。它发现村里气氛与往年不同：村东头老婆婆家，门贴大红纸，屋内烛火通明。“年”兽浑身一抖，怪叫了一声。将*门口时，院内突然传来“砰砰啪啪”的炸响声，“年”浑身战栗，再不敢往前凑了。原来，“年”最怕红色、火光和炸响。这时，婆婆的家门大开，只见院内一位身披红袍的老人在哈哈大笑。“年”大惊失色，狼狈逃蹿了。第二天是正月初一，避难回来的人们见村里安然无恙十分惊奇。这时，老婆婆才恍然大悟，赶忙向乡亲们述说了乞讨老人的'许诺。这件事很快在周围村里传开了，人们都知道了驱赶“年”兽的办法。从此每年除夕，家家贴红对联、燃放爆竹；户户烛火通明、守更待岁。初一一大早，还要走亲串友道喜问好。这风俗越传越广，成了中国民间最隆重的传统节日。
二、春节的*俗
1、腊月二十三 祭灶
我国春节，一般是从祭灶揭开序幕的。祭灶，是一项在我国民间影响很大、流传极广的*俗。旧时，差不多家家灶间都设有“灶王爷”神位。
2、腊月二十四 扫尘
“腊月二十四，掸尘扫房子” ，据《吕氏春秋》记载，我国在尧舜时代就有春节扫尘的风俗。按民间的说法：因“尘”与“陈”谐音，新春扫尘有“除陈布新”的涵义，其用意是要把一切穷运、晦气统统扫出门。这一*俗寄托着人们破旧立新的愿望和辞旧迎新的祈求。 每逢春节来临，家家户户都要打扫环境，清洗各种器具，拆洗被褥窗帘，洒扫
六闾庭院，掸拂尘垢蛛网，疏浚明渠暗沟。到处洋溢着欢欢喜喜搞卫生、干干净净迎新春的欢乐气氛。
3、腊月二十五 接玉皇
旧俗认为灶神上天后，天帝玉皇于农历十二月二十五日亲自下界,查察人间善恶，并定来年祸福，所以家家祭之以祈福，称为“接玉皇”。这一天起居、言语都要谨慎，争取好表现，以博取玉皇欢心，降福来年。
4、腊月二十七、二十八 洗浴
传统民俗中在这两天要集中地洗澡、洗衣，除去一年的晦气，准备迎接来年的新春，京城有"二十七洗疚疾，二十八洗邋遢"的谚语。腊月二十六洗浴为“洗福禄”。
5、腊月三十除夕 贴门神、贴春联、守岁、爆竹、吃年夜饭、给压岁钱、祭祖
除夕的意思是“月穷岁尽”，人们都要除旧部新，有旧岁至此而除，来年另换新岁的意思，是农历全年最后的一个晚上。故此期间的活动都围绕着除旧部新，消灾祈福为中心。
春联、贴福字、贴窗花、贴年画、贴挂千。这些都具有祈福、装点居所的民俗功能。反映了人民大众的风俗和信仰，寄托着人们对未来的希望。
守岁，我国民间在除夕有守岁的*惯，俗名“熬年”。守岁从吃年夜饭开始，这顿年夜饭要慢慢地吃，从掌灯时分入*，有的人家一直要吃到深夜。守岁的*俗，既有对如水逝去的岁月含惜别留恋之情，又有
对来临的新年寄以美好希望之意。
爆竹，中国民间有“开门爆竹”一说。即在新的一年到来之际，家家户户开门的第一件事就是燃放爆竹，以哔哔叭叭的爆竹声除旧迎新。爆竹是中国特产，其起源很早，至今已有两千多年的历史。放爆竹可以创造出喜庆热闹的气氛，是节日的一种娱乐活动，可以给人们带来欢愉和吉利。王安石的《元日》诗：
爆竹声中一岁除，
春风送暖人屠苏。
千门万户曈曈日。
总把新桃换旧符。
描绘了我国人民欢度春节盛大的喜庆情景。
在古代的农业社会里，大约自腊月初八以后，家庭主妇们就要忙着张罗过年的食品了。因为腌制腊味所需的时间较长，所以必须尽早准备，蒸年糕，年糕因为谐音“年高”，再加上有着变化多端的口味，几乎成了家家必备的应景食品。年糕的式样有方块状的黄、白年糕，象征着黄金、白银，寄寓新年发财的意思。年糕的口味因地而异。
饺子，北方年夜饭有吃饺子的传统，但各地吃饺子的*俗亦不相同，有的地方除夕之夜吃饺子，有的地方初一吃饺子，吃饺子是表达人们辞旧迎新之际祈福求吉愿望的特有方式。饺子就意味着更岁交子，过春节吃饺子被认为是大吉大利。另外饺子形状像元宝，包饺子意味着包住福运，吃饺子象征生活富裕。
吃年夜饭，也叫团圆夜，离家在外的游子都要不远千里万里赶回家来
是春节家家户户最热闹愉快的时候。大年夜．丰盛的年菜摆满一桌，围坐桌旁，共吃团圆饭，心头的充实感真是难以言喻。
给压岁钱，压岁钱是由长辈发给晚辈的，有的家里是吃完年夜饭后，人人坐在桌旁不许走，等大家都吃完了，由长辈发给晚辈，并勉励儿孙在在新的一年里学*长进，好好做人。
6、正月初一 拜年
春节早晨，开门大吉，先放爆竹，叫做“开门炮仗”。爆竹声后，碎红满地，灿若云锦，称为“满堂红”。这时满街瑞气，喜气洋洋。 春节里的一项重要活动，是到新朋好友家和邻那里祝贺新春，旧称拜年。新年的初一，人们都早早起来，穿上最漂亮的衣服，打扮得整整齐齐，出门去走亲访友，相互拜年，恭祝来年大吉大利。拜年的方式多种多样，有的是同族长带领若干人挨家挨户地拜年；有的是同事相邀几个人去拜年；也有大家聚在一起相互祝贺，称为“团拜”。由于登门拜年费时费力，后来一些上层人物和士大夫便使用各贴相互投贺，由此发展出来后来的“贺年片”。春节拜年时，晚辈要先给长辈拜年，祝长辈人长寿安康，长辈可将事先准备好的压岁钱分给晚辈，据说压岁钱可以压住邪祟，因为“岁”与“祟”谐音，晚辈得到压岁钱就可以**安安度过一岁。
7、舞龙
舞龙，又名「耍龙灯」、「龙灯舞」，是汉民族传统的舞蹈形式之一。每逢喜庆节日，各地都有舞龙的*俗。

今天我们在这里举行会议是为了迎接20xx年的第一场战役，也就是第一次质检，当然，我们的最终目的是迎接高考。现在，英语学*进入了一个非常关键的阶段，也是一个瓶颈阶段。不少高三学生虽然努力学*英语，但仍然没有明显的进步，有时会感到力不从心，手足无措。其实最主要的原因可能在于学*方法上出现了一些问题。在这里我给大家提几点建议供大家参考。
一、制定计划。要想学好一门语言，首先要一个切实可行的计划，用以指导自已的学*，古人说得好“凡事预则立，不预则废。”做事有计划就不会打乱仗，也不会感到盲从。
二、专心听课。课堂是获取知识的主要来源，上课是学生进解和掌握基础的基本技能并在此基础上发展认知能力的一个关键环节，这就要求同学们始终保持高度集中的注意力，力争在课内就把一节课的内容记住，当堂消化。
三、及时复*。知识贵在落实，课后及时复*能加深和巩固对新知识理解和记忆，系统在掌握新知识以达到灵活运用，即知识迁移的目的。
四、掌握正确的记忆方法。英语是一门记忆很强的学科，要大量积累词汇。很多同学最烦记单词，总是抱怨记不住，以致于丧失了信心。这是因为你没有了解到记忆的规律，没有掌握记单词的技巧。现在我给大家介绍几种方法。
1。及时记忆法，要求上课时认真听讲，争取趁热打铁，当堂记住。
2。联想记忆法，如bridegroom和bride。有room的是新郎
3。分类记忆法，把单词分门别类，如动物、植物类。
4。感官记忆法也叫运动记忆法。尽可能发用多种感官，耳听、口读、
手写、眼看、心记等。
5。构词记忆法，通过分析词根、前缀、后缀、派生和合成等记忆单词。
6。情景记忆法，把某个单词放在一个句子或者一段话中去记忆。
7。比较记忆法，反义词、同义词、同音词。
8。拼读记忆法，读准单词的发音是记住单词的前提，拼读记忆首先要
求把单词读准确，充分认识单词的读音与拼写之间的关系。如enthusiastic
9。循环记忆法，任何先进的单词记忆法都必须进行反复记忆。学了可能会遗忘，为了防止遗忘，一定要不断发进行阶段性复*。可以把单词和重点句子写在长片上放在口袋里或贴在桌子上、放在枕头连随时记忆。有些单词不是你记不住，而是你重复的次数不够多。
五、培养良好的语感。什幺是语感？语感具有一听就清，一说就顺，一写就通，一读就懂的功能。那幺，怎样培养语感呢？
1。从听力训练开始，在听力方面，一是听课文录音带，去感知模仿形成正确的语音、语调，二是听英语广播、电视节目及原声电影等，三是认真对待我们*时的听力训练，要沉着、冷静、细心，抓关键词，瞄准下一个句子和题目。
2。朗读、背诵是培养语感的捷径。主要是多读课文及听力教材，要将一个单词读准，一个句子读顺，一篇文章读烂，*时朝读时要最大声、最快速、最清晰地读。通过诵读，同学们可对文章的'语意、语法、语气、语调、节奏、重音了然于心。
3。要进行广泛阅读。阅读是吸收语言材料的最好途径，实践证明，学生阅读面越宽，语言实践越大，阅读理解能力便越强。只有通过读，才能够获得最大的实践量，才能享受到学*外语的真正甜头和学*的乐趣。阅读的数量多了，一些常用词汇、句式结构自然在脑子中形成了印象，也就逐渐形成了语感。现在我们每天至少应阅读一两篇文章。
4。多积累多写作是培养语感的必经之路。在*时写日记、周记，考试时尽量使用通过积累的高级词汇和句型，这样才能有效地提高写作水*。
六、要注重课本，排查要点，各个击破。这几年高考中都有课文中的原句子，同学们要善于发现隐藏在课文中的命题胚胎。
七、要持之以恒，孜孜不倦。俗话说“一日学，一日功”，“一日不学，十日空”。也就是要讲究一个“勤”字，做到天天读，天天背，天天练，天天总结，养成一种好*惯，这样你就离成功不远了。

如何充分发挥小学英语在实现教育目标中的功能，从而体现小学英语在整个课程中的地位和作用，是小学英语教学必须重视的问题。英语学*的启蒙阶段是非常重要的，教学的成功与否将对学生的终身学*产生深远影响。小学开设英语课程的目的在于培养学生学*英语的积极情感，形成初步的英语语感，打好语音、语调的基础，具备用所学英语进行交流的初级能力。通过英语课程的学*，丰富社会生活经历、开拓视野、树立学*的自信心。为此在实际教学中我们要求广大教师积极实践和探索，在教学目标、课程实施、教学方法、教学评价等方面做到层层推进。在实践过程中应该明确以下几点：

Thoughit was considered "illegal,"there was nothing to stop us from deliberatelystarting a heated discussion right after lights were out. It was our favoriteand the only way of ending our day, and we were as punctual for it as ourparents are for work. What was the most common topic?Girls, of course! Whatother topics were there for three energetic adolescent males lying comfortablyin bed? We judged them,ranked them, argued over them night after night withoutfeeling the slightest sense of boredom for three whole years. Were we maniacs? Who is not a maniac at eighteen?

it’s noticable that western holidays are becoming increasingly popular day by day, while chinese traditional festivals are being somewhat neglected. not long before about 10 doctors in beijing university and qinghua unversity announced that we should reject the invasion of western holidays ,because they regard western holidays as an challenge against our traditional festivals and culture.
frankly speaking, i don’t quite agree with them.indeed, we should never neglect or even discard our traditonal festivals as china boasts a brilliant history and splendid traditions. (examples).but why can’t we absorb the meaningful western holidays and culture.
there are obvious reasons why some western holidays are so popular in china. on the one hand, some of the western holidays which we chinese don’t have are reasonable and meaningful, such as father’s day and april fool’s day etc. on the other hand,the prevalence of globalization enables western culture to prevail in china. overwhelmed by such a trend,chinese unconsiciously get involved in western holidays and culture.
with the further development of the whole world, the cultural communication between different countries and nations becomes faster and more and more important. we are indeed from different nations, but we are the citizens of the same world, so the outstanding culture of different nations is the commom wealth of everyone on the earth.the only way for us to protect our traditional culture is to reject the foreign culture? the answer is definitely no. what we ought to do is to spare no effort to educate chinese to get to know and treasure our splendid traditions instead of rejecting foreign culture. only by educating can we set our confidence and belief towards our culture. only by educating can we preserve and promote the wealth that our ancesters left for us.

My heart is filled up with gratitude because I’m with you/Your make me courageous to be myself from cradle to the grave/So now I wanna thank for destiny/I’ll cherish the flower when it blooms until falls. The poetic lyric tells us that gratitude is actually a state of mind.
Once upon a time, the Pilgrims took the May Flower Ship to North America. They started a new life there although a lot of difficulties and hardships they encountered. After a long-time work, they got a big harvest. The Pilgrims had a feast in 1621 near Plymouth, Massachusetts, which is often referred to as the first Thanksgiving. People show their sincere gratitude towards the God, the nature, the earth, the river, the Indians and themselves. Moreover the 1621 feast has become a model for the Thanksgiving celebration in the United States. So we can see gratitude is an action to take.
How can we express our gratitude? It’s never a simple question to answer. Gratitude is a rare jewel, not a piece of cake, I know. But how can we expect such big events happening now and then? How can we be ready to say thank you ahead of time? How can we always hope to be grateful to everything and everyone for their dignity and generosity? Sometimes I may ask to myself. Is it moral? Is it honest? Is it beneficial? Is it necessary? Or the most interesting one, is it ridiculous? Ha-ha…So in my opinion, we’d better concentrate on our life’s details. Keep your eyes open to your daily life. Yes! A shining smile is supposed to be gratitude. A thank-you note is supposed to be gratitude. A soulful watch is supposed to be gratitude. As far as a baby’s crying on his arrival is supposed to be gratitude. And even fallen leaves in autumn are supposed to be gratitude. So the person, who stands here giving you a speech, is also showing HIS gratitude.
At last, what’s the significance of showing our gratitude? A proverb says that Gratitude is the sign of noble souls. Wow! Until now I am not that kind of giant, but I dare to say that everyone, you and me, has the right and the duty to show our gratitude to the world, no matter rich or poor, happy or sad, young or old. Only by doing so can we achieve our human ultimate concern. Meanwhile it obviously helps to build up a harmonious society.
