在我们常德有许多小吃，其中最有名的就是常德米粉。它是由优质大米做成的，又细又长很像一根根细绳。
常德米粉历史悠久，早在光绪年间就“诞生”了，那时常德就有了生产米粉的店坊。工人先把大米放在水中泡几小时，然后放进一个机器，把米碾碎并蒸熟，压制成为细绳子般的长条，那就是我们*常吃的米粉。
常德米粉分为免码粉和油码粉两种。现在条件好了，再没有人吃免码粉了。油码粉分汉，回两大类：汉族油码粉主要有**、红烧、红油、三鲜、酸辣等十多种。**油码粉更为丰富，主要有牛**、牛杂、羊肉片、卤蛋、牛排、牛筋等十多种、米粉装碗后，调以各种佐料，再盖上油码，食用时，美味可口，独具风味。
常德米粉的吃法很多：可以在开水中烫了吃；可以炒了吃；还可以炖着吃……
