This lesson is about Module 7 Unit 1 “This dog can help him.” of New Standard English, Book 9. This lesson is for the students of Grade Five.

教学目标:

a. To enable students to master and use these new words : blind , special.

c. To enable students to use the target sentences correctly : This dog can help him . Can Fifi help the blind people ? No , he can’t . He only wants to play .

2、Ability aims:

a. Talking about abilities with “can” , “can’t ” and know the objective case.

b. To improve students’ language ability.

3、Emotion aims:

a. To encourage students to cooperate with the others , help each other and learn from each other.

b. To educate students to protect animals and help disabled people .

To master and use the new words , sentence pattern and the usage of “can”。

To use the sentence patterns to talk about ability.

Step1. Warming up

1、Greeting.

2、Please sing a song and do the actions.

3、Look and say some phrases more .

4、Free talk. What can you do ? Or what can’t you do?

Step 2. Presentation

Dear boys and girls, Do you love animals?

We can see some dogs and cats in our life. What can they do ?

Today we’ll learn Module 7 Unit 1. ( Write on the blackboard)

Step 3. Practice

1、Listen to the text and try to answer the questions:

Q1: How many dogs are there in the text? Answer the question------2 dogs.

2、Show Ss by PPT:Look at this dog. Is this dog lovely? It’s a pet dog. Its name is Fifi. Look at the other one.

Is it lovely? It is very special. Learn special(Pay attention to the pronunciation of “e”)

3、Show Ss a picture of blind people by PPT and ask “What’s the matter with this man ?”Learn blind

4、Who can help him? Look! This dog can help him. (Write on the blackboard.) Learn the target sentence. (Read in the different ways. ) Pay attention to “ him”。

1. Let’s guess. If you want to make supper/take a bath/watch TV/read books/buy things/play ping-pong. Where do you go?

有必要的话,拿出这些词的卡片,进行复*一下。

(设计意图:这个环节的设置既复*了一些动词性词组,又引出了今天课文中提到的地点体育馆和商店。)

New Concepts

1. 利用复*二中的句式引出What’s your favourite sport?学*单词sport,

出示单词卡片,联系朗读,拼读。

并让学生模仿回答My favourite sport is ping-pong/badminton.

2. 学生熟悉句式后,再利用实物和单词卡片学*单词 basketball,soccer.

3. 带入句式进行练*。可以是连接式练*,也可以小组练*。

4. 告诉学生回答这个问题还可以使用一个更简单的句式I like ____ best.

5. 两人一组做问答练*。

6. 让学生根据已有知识说出踢足球,打篮球都用play.

(设计意图:利用已有知识引出新知识,减小教学的难度,同时可以放手让学生自己说出新句式,教师加以指导就可以了,通过练*巩固新知。)

7. If you want to play basketball, what do you wear?学*服装词汇I wear shorts,T-shirt.并引出runners,出示单词卡片,拼读单词,并让学生练*用这些词说一个句子。

8. 两人一组练*这组句式。

9. 听录音两遍,注意any和some,either 和too的读音和用法。

10.完成课后*题并两人一组自编对话。

11.利用实物汇报演出。

(设计意图:学*第二部分内容时,要把either 和too的用法提一下, any和some的用法留到第二课去解决。编对话的内容可根据完成*题的内容进行,并利用实物表演出来,运用于实际生活中。)

一、教学内容分析:在本单元的warming-up学*中学生学*了世界英语的分支,已经在不同国家应用时候的差异。Reading部分"The Road to Modern English"通过对英语语言的发展历史这一话题的探讨,加强学生对英语语言的了解,特别是对英语发展趋势的了解。通过本课的学*要让学生了解英国英语、美国英语、澳大利亚英语、印度英语、新加坡英语等都有自己的惯用法和不同的发音规律。在完成本节课的学*后,学生能感受到英语语言的.多层次和多元化,有助于培养学生的跨文化意识。

二、学情分析

我所带的学生,英语基础好的不多。大多数学生没有兴趣也没有耐心阅读完整篇文章更不要说掌握文意了。所以往往出现老师自问自答唱独角戏的情况。为了照顾所有学生,让每位学生都参与教学活动。在开展教研活动时,我们教学经验丰富的教研组长提出了这个因材施教的任务教学方法。效果颇好。在这一过程中,即使有些学生在前面的fast-reading中对课文认识不够,但经过后面的这一活动,绝大多数学生都能很好的理解课文。

三、教学目标

T: Well, as we know, there is more than one kind of English in the word. They are different from one another in some ways. Why has English changed over time? What will world English be in the future? Do you know? Well, today, the passage “The Road To Modern English” will tell us. Now please open your books and turn to page 9.

Step 3 Careful reading

1. Let the students read the passage carefully and then make a time line of the development of English.

2. Let the students read the passage again and fill in the blanks with the words from the text.

It is not easy for a Chinese person to speak English as ___ as a ___ English speaker. One reason is that English has a large ___. It also has different usage in different English speaking countries. If you use “flat” instead of “___”, people in America will know you have learned British English. 1. Display pictures of Dolly and normal sheep on the screen. Tell them Dolly is a cloned sheep. But it looks no different from normal sheep. Show more pictures of cloned animals ( cloned calves, pigs, monkey and mule). Their names can be introduced here, which might arouse students’ more interest.

2. Introduce the concept of “copy”. Ask the students to think about this question: Are cloned animals exactly the same as the “mother animals”?

(They may have the same appearance but their physical qualities can be very different. Many cloned animals died at a much younger age than average.)

3. Interview one student about his feeling towards cloned animals by asking the following three questions: 1) If you happen to have a cloned cat, how would you feel? The General Idea of This Period

This period includes Warming up,Reading and Comprehending of Unit 3.To elicit the topic of humour,the teacher can get the students to talk about their teachers by asking what kind of teachers they like most.After the students know what they will learn in this unit,the teacher can get them to think what humour is,and then the teacher can show them some video clips,some verbal jokes,funny stories and some pictures for them to appreciate and have them tell the types of English humour,the typical representatives of each kind and if there are Chinese equivalents to types of English humour listed.

CHARLIE CHAPLIN

Charlie Chaplin,who died in 1977,is considered one of the greatest and funniest actors in the history of the cinema.During his lifetime,he acted in 13 films,and he wrote,directed and acted in 69 other films.

Chaplin was born in London in 1889 and first acted when he was five years old.At the age of eight,he joined a group of child dancers,and at seventeen he set off to the USA with a group of comedy actors.During a second trip to the USA in 1912,an important film director saw Chaplin acting a very funny part in a play.As a result,Chaplin got his first film part in the States.

As early as his second film,Chaplin had developed his own manner of acting,the one that was to become world-famous.He wore a small black hat,very wide trousers,a moustache and carried a stick that he swung in the air as he walked.Even his way of walking down the street and turning a corner could be recognized as his own.In less than three months Chaplin acted in 11 films.In a short while he started directing films himself.During his first year,Chaplin acted in 35 films,many of which he wrote and directed himself.

Chaplin's earliest films were silent films,because the equipment for adding sound to films had not yet been developed.The development of films with sound became a problem for Chaplin,as he was uncertain about making films with dialogue.Instead,he continued to make films without dialogue,but he added music,which he wrote himself.Two of his greatest films,"City Lights" and "Modern Times" were of this kind.

Chaplin's later films,however,were not well received.He made only six films between 1940 and 1966 and only the first of these is still popular today.Chaplin lived the last years of his life in Switzerland,where he was buried in 1977.Before he died,he was honoured in a number of ways for his contributions to the film industry.

One of Charlie Chaplin's most famous films was "The Gold Rush",which was made in 1925.The film was set in California in the middle of the nineteenth century.At that time,gold was discovered in California and thousands of people rushed there to look for gold,so it became known as "the gold rush".People said gold could easily be picked up by washing sand from the river in a pan of water.This was known as "panning for gold".

In the film,Chaplin and his friend are in California.So far,they have been unlucky in their search for gold and have no money at all.Chaplin and his friend are caught on the edge of a mountain in a snow storm in a small wooden house.They have nothing to eat.They are so hungry that they cook a pair of shoes,by boiling them,in a pan of water.Chaplin sits down at the table and eats the shoe with a knife and fork,enjoying every mouthful.He makes it seem as if this is one of the most delicious meals that he has ever enjoyed.

First,  let me introduce the reading passage. It is the center of this unit’s teaching and learning. It is made up of 4 paragraphs, that is, one day’s observing chimps with Jane in the forest; how Jane did her research and her achievements; Jane’s love towards animals and her contributions to animal protection; and a short summary to her. By learning this lesson, the students can not only understand women’s status in society and everyday life, their values and contributions, their difficulties and achievements, but also learn how to use some words, phrases and sentence patterns. Of course, the students can practise their reading skills, such as skimming, scanning and careful reading.

  (3)确定了实验材料和试验方法,该如何做实验呢,学生看教材“实验”这一模块,思考总结实验步骤,并在大屏幕呈现人正常红细胞和光镜图片和人部分红细胞已涨破的光镜照片。

  思考如果上述实验在试管中进行,细胞破裂后,还需要用什么方法才能获得较纯的细胞膜?

  2、细胞膜的组成

  (1)PPT呈现材料:

  ①19世纪末,欧文顿曾用500多种化学物质对植物细胞的通透性进行上万次实验,发现细胞膜对不同物质的通透性不一样:凡是可以溶于脂质的物质,比不能溶于脂质的物质更容易通过细胞膜进入细胞。

  ②人的消化液中含有很多能够水解蛋白质的物质,用这种物质处理细胞膜,会使细胞膜分解。学生阅读这两段材料得出结论:细胞膜主要由脂质和蛋白质组成。

  (一)引入新课

  在应用酶的过程中,人们发现了一些实际问题:酶通常对强酸、强碱、高温和有机溶剂等条件非常敏感,容易失活;溶液中的酶很难回收,提高了生产成本,也可能影响产品质量。在本课题中,我们将动手制备固定化酵母细胞,体会固定化酶的作用。如果你是工程技术人员,你如何解决这个问题?

  (二)进行新课

  1、基础知识

  1.1固定化酶技术。即将酶固定在一定空间内的技术(如固定在不溶于水的载体上)。固定化酶是指限制或固定于特定空间位置的酶,具体来说,是指经物理或化学方法处理,使酶变成不易随水流失即运动受到限制,而又能发挥催化作用的酶制剂。

  1.2固定化酶技术的优点:

  (1)使酶既能与反应物接触,又能与产物分离;

  (2)固定在载体上的酶可以被反复利用。

  2、固定化酶的应用实例――生产高果糖浆

  (1)高果糖浆的生产原理

  (2)葡萄糖异构酶固定:将葡萄糖异构酶固定在颗粒状载体上,装入反应柱中。

  (3)高果糖浆的生产操作(识图4-5反应柱):

  从反应柱上端注入葡萄糖溶液,从下端流出果糖溶液,一个反应柱可连续使用半年。

  (4)高果糖浆是果糖含量为42%左右的糖浆。作为蔗糖的替代品,高果糖浆不会像蔗糖那样诱发肥胖、糖尿病、龋齿和心血管病,对人的健康有利。

  (5)生产高果糖浆需要葡萄糖异构酶;其作用是将葡萄糖转化为果糖;这种酶稳定性好,可持续发挥作用。

  3、固定化技术的方法(识图4-6固定方法):

  细胞中含有一系列酶,在细胞正常生命活动的过程中,通过代谢产生所需要的代谢产物。

  利用物理或化学方法将细胞固定在一定空间的技术。

  将酶和细胞固定化方法有包埋法、化学结合法和物理吸附法。有。一种酶只能催化一种化学反应,而在生产实际中很多产物的形成都通过一系列的酶促反应才能进行,所以操作比较麻烦。

  可采用固定化细胞技术。

  【比较】酶和细胞的固定方法和特点

  〖思考1〗对固定酶的作用影响较小的固定方法是什么?吸附法。

  〖思考2〗将谷氨酸棒状杆菌生产谷氨酸的发酵过程变为连续的酶反应,应当固定(酶、细胞);若将蛋白质变成氨基酸,应当固定(酶、细胞)。

  4、固定细胞的材料:

  固定细胞时应当选用不溶于水的'多孔性载体材料,如明胶、琼脂糖、海藻酸钠、醋酸纤维素和聚丙烯酰胺等

  5、实验设计

  5.1制备固定化酵母细胞

  (1)酵母细胞的活化:1g干酵母+10mL蒸馏水→50mL烧杯→搅拌均匀→放置1h,使之活化。

  〖思考3〗活化是指让处于休眠状态的微生物重新恢复正常生活状态的过程。

  (2)配制CaCl2溶液:0.83gCaCl2+150mL蒸馏水→200mL烧杯→溶解备用。

  (3)配制海藻酸钠溶液:0.7g海藻酸+10mL水→50mL烧杯→酒精灯微火(或间断)加热,并不断搅拌,使之溶化→蒸馏水定容到10mL。

  〖思考4〗微火加热并不断搅拌的目的是什么?防止海藻酸南焦糊。

  (4)海藻酸钠溶液与酵母细胞的混合:将溶化的海藻酸钠溶液冷却至室温,加入活化酵母细胞液,搅拌后吸入到注射器中。

  〖思考5〗为什么要海藻酸钠溶液冷却后才能加入酵母细胞?

  防止高温杀死酵母细胞。

  (5)固定化酵母细胞:以恒定速度缓慢地将注射器中的溶液滴加到CaCl2溶液中,形成凝胶珠状颗粒。5.2固定化酵母细胞的发酵

  (6)冲洗:将固定的酵母细胞凝胶珠用蒸馏水冲洗2~3次。

  (7)发酵:150mL10%葡萄糖+固定化酵母细胞→200mL锤形瓶→密封→25℃发酵24h。

  〖思考6〗发酵过程中锥形瓶为什么要密封?

  酵母菌的酒精发酵需要缺氧条件。

  〖思考7〗锥形瓶中的气泡和酒精是怎样形成的?酵母菌进行无氧呼吸产生的。

分析:本文第一句提出全文的中心论点:学不可以已。接着围绕这个中心论点分三段从三个不同角度进行论述:

第l段作者用了五个比喻。第一个比喻“青出于蓝”,不能认为它的意思是比喻学生超过老师。这是它作为成语后新产生的意思。本文中这个比喻和“冰寒于水”,说明事物经过一定的变化,可以提高。“直木为轮”说明事物经过一定的变化,还可以改变原来的状态。这样,三个比喻分了两层意思。作者在这基础上,用“故”归纳上文,又用了“木受绳则直”、“金就砺则利”两个比喻作为事例,进而推论出人必须通过学*和参省才能达到“知明而行无过”的境地。后面两个比喻并列说明:肯下功夫,必见成效。它们是对后面推论的有力衬托。综上所述,本段是从总论学*的重要性这个角度来论述中心论点的。

第2段作者用了五个比喻。开头作者用“终日而思…‘不如须臾之所学”先来阐说,接着就用“____而望”“不如登高之博见”这个比喻,形象说明只有摆正“学”和“思”的关系才能使学*产生显著效果。为了把道理说得更透辟,作者顺势而下,连用“登高而招”、“顺风而呼”、“假舆马”、“假舟揖”四个比喻,从见、闻、陆、水等方面阐明了在实际生活中由于利用和借助外界条件所起的重要作用,从而说明人借助学*,就能弥补自己的不足,取得更显著的成效。最后由此得出结论,君子所以能超越常人,并非先天素质与一般人有差异,而完全靠后天善于学*。综上所述,本段是从学*的重要作用这个角度来论述中心论点。

第3段作者用了十个比喻。作者先用两个比喻,从“积土”、“积水’’推论到“人的积德”,正面论述积累的作用,说明学*上的成就是不断积累起来的。接着又用“不积跬步”、“不积小流”两个比喻从反面说明如果不积累就不能达到远大目标。这是本段第一个层次,说明学*要积累。下面就分两层说明如何做到积累。作者用四个比喻正反对照:先用“骐骥”、“驽马”对比,说明主观条件的好坏,不是学*的决定因素,坚持不懈才是学好的关键;又用“楔而不舍”,“锲而舍之”对照,说明只有坚持不懈、持之以恒,才会有所成就。这是本段第二个层次,说明做到积累就要坚持不懈。最后一个层次,作者用蚓和蟹两个比喻正反对照,说明做到积累还要专一。后面两个层次说明:做到积累的两点保证,两者缺一不可。综上所述,作者在本段中又分三个层次,是从学*的方法和态度这个角度来论述中心论点的。

(二)本文设喻有什么特点?

分析:本文是阐述学*道理的议论文,通篇设喻,使所讲道理形象生动,深入浅出,既有说服力又有感染力。本文的设喻特点:

(1)以日常生活中常见的事情或现象作为喻体。如说明“学不可以已”之理,作者用了人们生活中常见的靛青色的提取,车轮的制造以及水寒冷而成冰等事例为喻加以说明,充分表达了“学不可以已”而必须有所造就的道理。这样化深奥为浅*,.由感性到理性,令人心悦诚服。

(2)设喻方式多样:①正面设喻,如“青出于蓝”、“冰寒于水”、“___木为轮”、“金就砺则利”等从正面阐明学*的重要性。②正反设喻,如“蚓”和“蟹”、“骐骥”和“驽马”、“锲而舍之”和“锲而不舍”,通过正反对照把所要说明的道理说得更具体明白。③反复设喻,如“____而望”、“登高而招”、“顺风而呼”、“假舆马”、“假舟揖”,连用几个不同的比喻,使读者加深对道理的理解。

(3)设喻与说理结合紧密,形式十分灵活:①有的是将道理隐含于比喻之中,如“青出于蓝”、“冰寒于水”;“锲而舍之”、“锲而不舍”。②有的先设喻,后引出道理,如第2段,作者先连用五个比喻,后引出“善假于物也”的道理。③有的先设喻,引出道理后,再用另外的比喻进一步论证,如第3段第一层,作者先用“积土成山”、“积水成渊”设喻,引出“积善成德”的道理,再用“不积跬步”、“不积水流”两个比喻从反面进一步论证。

从初一学过的课文《为学》导入,指出它与本文都用设喻方法,讲有关学*的道理。

(四)作者介绍(结合注释①)。

荀子(约公元前313一前238)名况字卿,战国末期赵国人,曾游学于齐,当过楚国兰陵令。后来失官居家著书,死后葬于兰陵。

荀子是我国古代的思想家、教育家,是先秦儒家最后的代表,朴素唯物主义思想集大成者。韩非和李斯都是他的学生。他反对迷信天命鬼神,肯定自然规律是不以人们意志为转移的,并提出“制天命而用之”的人定胜天的思想。他强**育和礼法的作用,主张治理天下既要靠“法制”,又要重视教化兼用“礼”治,强调“行”对于“知”的必要性和后天学*的重要性,认为后天环境和教育可以改变人的本性。

荀子的著作有《荀子》二十卷。该书由《论语》、《孟子》的语录体,发展为有标题的论文,标志着古代说理文的进一步成熟。他的散文说理透彻、语言质朴、多排比句,又善用比喻。《劝学》是《荀子》的第一篇。本文是原文前几段的节录。

(五)解题。

《劝学》的“劝”起着统领全篇的作用。教师先在黑板上写一个“劝”字,问道:这个字是什么意思?学生往往会不假思索地回答:“劝告”。教师趁此在“劝”字后加上一个“学”,再问:“劝”是什么意思?学生才会领悟:原来它还有“劝勉”的意思。这在心理学上叫做给学生建立“注意中心”。接着就讲:“劝”的繁体字“____”是形声字,凡是用“力”作声旁的字,多数有给人们勉励的意思,如“励”、“努”等。这是“劝”的本义,而在现代汉语中,“劝”,解释为“劝阻”,词义已经转移了。作者在这篇以《劝学》为题目的文章中,勉励人们要不停止地坚持学*,只有这样才能增长知识,发展才能,培养高尚的品德。

(六)指导学生处理课文字词句中的疑难问题。

(1)君子曰:学不可以已。“君子”是一个合成双音词。“可以”在古汉语中是两个单音词,相当于现代汉语“可以、用它”的意思。在本文具体语境中“以”已失去介词的作用,只协调音节。因此,这两个词中只有“可”有意义,与现代汉语的“可以”差不多;它还表示情理上应当如此,可译为“应该”。全句译为:有学问有修养的人说,学*是不应该(可以、能够)停止的。

(2)木直中绳,____以为轮,其曲中规。句中两个“中”作动词,“符合”的意思。“绳”指木工取直用的墨线,这个词的意义现在已扩大,泛指各种绳索。“___”和“为”是两个动词,“___”通“糅”,指古代用火熨木使之弯曲的一种方法,现作“揉”,解释“使……弯曲”。“为”,做成。“以”在两个动词之间表明它后边的行为是它前边行为的目的或结果,作连词用,译作“而”。全句译为:(一块)木材直得合乎(木匠拉直的)墨线,假如使它弯曲而成为车轮,它的弧度(就可以)符合圆规(画的圆圈)。

(3)积善成德,而神明自得,圣心备焉。句中“神明”即“神灵”;“圣心”指完美的品德和的智慧;“自得”不是现代汉语中的合成双音词,“自”是自然,“得”是通;“而”是表示因果关系的连词。这句译为:积累善行养成美德,因而能自通于神明,完美的品德和的智慧也就具备了。

(4)假舟揖者,非能水也,而绝江河。句中“舟揖”是合成双音词,偏义复词,联系上下文,偏指舟。“水”,名词用如动词,“游泳”。“绝”是会意字,从“___”,从“刀”,从“卩”(象人形),意思是人用刀横断丝织品,“绝江河”很像横断水流,所以“绝”引申为“横渡”。“江河”古人专指长江、黄河,现在的词义扩大了,泛指一切江、河。全句译为:借助船只的人,并不是能游泳,但是能横渡江河。

(5)蚓无爪牙之利,筋骨之强,上食埃土,下饮黄泉,用心一也。句中两个“之”是定语后置的标志。“爪牙”在本文中是两个单音词,它们的本义是爪子、牙齿。后来形成褒义的比喻义:帮手、武士;现代又转为贬义的比喻义:帮凶、走狗,词义的感情色彩有了变化。“强”读___,坚硬的意思。“上”、“下”方位词作状语,“向上”、“向下”。“黄泉”是特殊的单纯双音词。“用心”不是合成双音词,“用”是引介原因的介词,译作“由于、因为”、“心”是“心思”的意思。“一”,作动词,专一的意思。全句译为:蚯蚓没有锋利的爪牙,坚硬的筋骨,(却能)上吃泥土,下饮地下水,(这是)由于心思专一(的缘故)。

(七)诵读第l段。

1.诵读的准备。

先给下列句子划分节奏(学生试划,教师纠正):

学不可以已___使之然也

木受绳则直,金就砺则利

君子博学而日参省乎已

则知明而行无过矣

让学生解释下列词语:

“已”——在现代语中有没有相同用法?请举例。(奔腾不已,不能自已)

“以为”——跟“自以为得之矣”(《石钟山记》)中的“以为”用法是否相同?(不同。

“自以为”是自己认为之意;此句中的“以为”是“以之为”(用它做成)的省文。)

“虽”——这个“虽”跟下面两句话中哪一个“虽”字的用法相同:①相如虽驽,独畏廉将军哉?(不同)②虽大风浪不能鸣也。(相同)

“木受绳”二句——把省略的意思找出来。(“受绳而后锯之”“就砺而磨”——都是不言而喻的,故可省。)

2.学生练*背诵。

先自读两遍,再由教师领读一遍(师生都不看书),然后检查试背,发现难点,指出关键在于要理清文理。

3.文理分析。

第一步:找观点

提问:这段话中哪些句子是表述作者观点的?(起句和结句)

追问:开头说:“学不可以已”,下面接着有一连串的设喻,这些设喻是证明这个观点的吗?(不

是直接证明这个观点,而是用来证明结句“君子博学而日参省乎己,则知明而行无过矣”这个观点的。)

再追问:既然如此,起句和结句所表述的观点又是怎样的关系呢?(后者用来证明前者——因为“博学而日参乎己”有“知明而行无过”的功效,所以“学不可以已”。)

补充问:在“君子博学而日参省乎已”这句话中,哪些字眼表示了“不可以已”的意思?(“博”——要“博”则“不可以已”;“日”——每天;亦“不已”之意。)

第二步:弄清设喻的内涵

提问:这段话中的设喻可分几组?(分三组:①“青,取之于蓝……而寒于水”;②“木直中绳……___使之然也”,③“故木受绳……则利”。)

追问:这三组设喻从总体上看,都是为了论证“君子博学……行无过矣”这一论点的。既然如此,是否可以认为这是简单的重复?(不是,因为三者的角度不同)。

再追问:它们的角度不同表现在什么地方?①是将前后不同的状态和性质加以对照,说明后者高于前者,用来比喻人们经过学*,其思想、道德的境界高于学*之前,智力发达程度也高于学*之前。②说明事物的状态、性质既经改变,则不会恢复到原来的状态、性质上去,用“___”来比喻学*可以改造人这一重大作用。③“受绳则直”“就砺则利”所强调的是改造的结果,照应下文“知明而行无过”;被省略的“锯”“磨”二字,都表示持续的动作,又包含了“不可以已”的意思。可见这一组设喻是前两组设喻的总括,由此顺理成章地引出作者的观点。

最后板书此段文理示意图,帮助学生记诵。

4.熟练地诵读这一段。

学生参照上面的示意图齐背一遍,先自查、互查,后由教师检查。

1.诵读的准备。

先划分下列句子的节奏,要求注意某一节拍之中有些字之间有极短暂的停顿(用“·”表示)。

吾尝·终日·而思矣,不知须臾·之所学也。

登高而招,臂非加长也,而见者远。

君子生·非异也,善假于物也。

后解释词语:

“终日而思”和“___而望”——属于“对举”,结构相同,“而”表示修饰关系。用现代语表述,依次为“整天地想”和“跃起脚跟向远处看”,前者加“地”,后者不加。

“彰”——就是“明”的意思。从“彡”,从“章”,“章”亦声,光彩夺目之意。

“利足”——现在也有这种构词方式,如“快手”(干事情快)。利足,就是跑得快。

“致”——或以为同“至”,非是。“致”与“绝”对应,都表示动作结果,课本注为“达到”是正确的。

“能水”——今南方亦有“会水”一词,指游泳而言。

教师提问:本段有哪些设喻,先一一列举出来。

追问:这些设喻各有什么作用?

主导问:起句和结句是怎样的关系?(“学”是前提条件,“善假于物”是结果——能利用自然可谓善,能创造可用之物,则是善之善者。)

请归纳本段大意:能学*才能善假于物(板书)。

4.熟练地背诵这一段。

方式同前。提示学生注意作者行文方式:“登高”“顺风”中已含有“假物”之意,但未明白点出“假”字;至“舆马…“舟揖”二喻,才明白点出;最后再说“善假于物”,给人的印象就深了。了解这种行文方式也可以帮助我们记诵。

1.诵读的准备。

先划分下列句子的节奏:

蚓无·爪牙之利

非·蛇鳝之穴无·可寄托者

后解释下列词语:

“兴焉”“生焉”“备焉”的“焉”——或注为“于是”,亦通。虚词也可以活解,只要于文意无害。

“无以”——可与“河曲智里无以应”作比较。这里是“没有办法”的意思。

2.划分层次,然后练*背诵。

第一层(首句、以句号为标志、下同)说明积善而后圣心备的道理。

第二层(第2—4句)从正反两面设喻说明积累的必要性。

第三层(最后两句)从正反两面说明用心专一才能积累的道理。

提示学生:此段较长,可按上述层次,一层一层地练*背诵,最后连贯地背诵全段。

3.概括本段主旨后,熟练地背诵这一段。

主旨是:学*知识必须有“锲而不舍”的精神,不断地积累;要做到这一点,就必须用心专一。

1.思想内容。

总结方式:先列出各段的论点(分论点);再分析这些论点跟“学不可以已”这句话(中心论点)的关系,指出分论点就是中心论点的论据,最后列表说明。

教师点拨:作者在本文中所论述的观点,跟他的“性恶”说是分不开的。因为“性恶”,所以需要改造,改造后即可为善,“虽有槁暴,不复挺者,___使之然也”,就说明了这一点改造的方法就是进行教育,“木受绳则直,金就砺则利”,说明教育可以改造人,使人为善。这种教育改造,有一个由量变到质变的过程,所以又说“积善成德,而神明自得,圣心备焉。”

2.设喻的运用。

教师说明:严格地说,通常所谓“比喻论证”是不确切的,比喻是一种修辞技巧,常用来说明事物的状态、大小、色泽等等;设喻则是一种说明事理的方法,用于论证,应称为“设喻论证”。

学生讨论:(1)从本文看,运用设喻的基本原则是什么?(2)本文在设喻的运用上有哪些特点?

小结要点:

设喻的基本原则是“以其所知,喻其所不知”,也就是用生活中常见的事物来说明深刻的道理。(附带说说,寓言也是设喻的一种,上学期已学过,如“循表夜涉”“刻舟求剑”等,同样也有深入浅出的效果。)

本文的设喻有两大特点:一是方式灵活,有时从一个方面用同类事物并列设喻以加强效果,如“青,取之于蓝……而寒于水”;有时从正反两面设喻说明同一道理,如“骐骥一跃……功在不舍”。二是用一连串的设喻,而内容逐步加深,如“登高而招……而绝江河”。

3.对举的运用。

说明:对举是一种行文方式,就是将有关的两个事物(包括同类事物和相反事物)同时举出,其句子构造也相同或大体相同。

让学生举例(同类事物对举,如“青,取之于蓝,而青于蓝;冰,水为之,而寒于水”,“木受绳则直,金就砺则利”等;相反事物对举,如“骐骥一跃,不能十步;驽马十驾,功在不舍”,“蚓无爪牙之利……用心躁也”。)

讨论对举的作用。教师要说明一下:上述对举句组又都是设喻,那是就其目的(说明事理)来说的,而讨论对举的作用则应从行文方式看,要想想如此行文有什么好处。(读起来节奏整齐划一,铿锵有力;以同类事物对举可以丰富内容,加深印象;以相反事物对举,可以使读者对问题获得一面的认识。)

钱钟书先生1910年出生于江苏无锡,1933年清华大学外文系毕业,1935年赴牛津大学攻读,获B.Litt.(Oxon)学位。后又至巴黎大学研究法国文学。归国后,曾任昆明西南**外文系教授,国立师范学院英语系主任,上海暨南大学外语系教授,中央图书馆外文部总编纂等。**后,任清华大学外文系教授。1953年转任中国科学院文学研究所研究员、哲学社会科学部学部委员。新时期又担任中国社会科学院文学研究所研究员和中国社会科学院副院长、院特邀顾问,还曾任第六届全国______委员,第七、八届全国______常务委员。

三、整体感知,把握文意

1.学生诵读课文,了解课文大意.划分结构层次。

明确:本文可分四部分。

第一部分(第l段).交代作者论诗的根本立场。

第二部分(第2段),从整体上论述了中国诗的一般发展特点及其规律。

第三部分(自“贵国爱伦坡主张诗的篇幅愈短愈妙”至“我在别处也曾详细说明贵国爱伦坡的诗法所产生的纯粹诗,我们诗里几千年前早有了”),重点论述中国诗的各个特点。这部分又分三层:

第一层(自“贵国爱伦坡主张诗的篇幅愈短愈妙”至“中国诗人要使你从‘易尽’里望见了‘无垠’”),从诗的篇幅上进行论述:中国诗的特点就是短,它形成的原因则是由于韵律的要求。

第二层(自“-一位中国诗人说”至“深挚于涕泪和叹息的静默”),论述中国诗的意韵之美一一“言有尽而意无穷”,且富于暗示。

第三层(自“西洋渎者也觉得中国诗笔力轻淡”至“我们诗里几千年前早有了”),通过对比的方式具体论述中国诗“笔力轻淡,词气安和”的风格。

第四部分(自“所以,你们讲,中国诗……”至“研究我们的诗准使诸位……觉得甜蜜的家乡困远征增添了甜蜜”),论述中国诗的总体特色,并且启示人们,论诗必须根据本国文化根基,只有这样才全面科学。

2.学生准确筛选有关段落中的信息,用恰当的语言概括中国诗的特征。

学生思考后,明确:与西方诗歌相比较,中国诗有以下特征。

第一,中国诗讲求抒情性并一蹴而至崇高的境界,以后就缺乏变化,而且逐渐腐化。

第二,中国诗讲求篇幅短小,“诗体”配适“诗心”的需要。

第三,中国诗富于暗示性。

第四,中国诗笔力轻淡,词气安和。

3.学生分组时论本文行文的特点.要求举例说明。

明确:本文在行文布局上的主要特点是以综合为纲,以比较为网,中外相容,古今兼顾,且处处都设机巧,让读者回味无穷。

比如要回答“什么是中国诗的一般印象呢”,钱钟书巧妙地设下一个“陷阱”。他告诉我们,要用这样的问题来提问是不合适的。只有在具有居高临远的观点和将中外诗进行对比的情况下才能作出合理的结论。并且告诉读者,这种方法即是比较文学的方法。不多的几句话,就把基本观点和原则交代清楚了。以下的每一个论述几乎都包藏着对比和综合。

如中国诗的发展史问题,就由伏尔泰所引出,然后道出自己独到的见解。

如谈中国诗的篇幅,则以爱伦坡的话立论。不仅指出了中国涛的特点及其原因,还指出了中国诗的特殊之处:简短的诗可以有悠远意味,收缩并不妨碍延长,仿佛我们要看得远些,每把眉眼颦蹙。中国诗人要使你从“易尽”里望见了“无垠”。

在谈中国诗的意韵和特殊表达方式时,则援引了魏尔兰、济慈、维荣、莎士比亚、拜伦等外国诗人的见解,材料充实,说服力强。

四、品味文章的语言

方法一:学生自己找出感兴趣的句子自由发言。

方法二:教师出示投影中的句子让学生品析。

如用第二种方法,可出示下列句子供学生品味。

1.所以,中国诗是早熟的。早熟的代价是早衰。中国诗一蹴而至崇高的境界,以后就缺乏变化,而且逐渐腐化。

2.中国人的心地里,没有地心吸力那回事,一跳就高升上去。梵文的《百喻经》说一个印度愚人要住三层楼而不许匠人造底下两层,中国的艺术和思想体构,往往是飘飘凌云的空中楼阁,这因为中国人聪明,流毒无穷地聪明。

3.问而不答,以问为答,给你一个回肠荡气的没有下落,吞言咽理的没有下文。……余下的只是静默一一沉挚于涕泪和叹息的静默。

4.有种卷毛凹鼻子的哈巴狗儿,你们叫它“北京狗”,我们叫它“西洋狗”。《红楼梦》的“西洋花点子哈巴狗儿”。这只在西洋就充中国而在中国又算西洋的小畜生,该磨快牙齿,咬那些谈中西本位文化的人。

5.读外国诗每有种他乡忽遇故知的喜悦,会引导你回到本国诗。这事了不足奇。

教师提示:

3.此句意在说中国诗的意蕴很悠远,但其表达风格却十分*和。

4.本句隐讽那些对于西方文化不懂装懂的人。

5.此句意在讲对外国诗了解得越深,越能感受本国诗。
