我家有一只可爱的、调皮惹事的小花猫，我叫它“小花”。

我们家以前有一只小猫咪，名字叫做皮皮。皮皮刚来的时候只有一个小拳头大，刚断奶，妈妈每天喂它猫粮，它总是吃得津津有味。在妈妈的精心照料下，皮皮渐渐长大了，毛色逐渐变成了黄白相间，在加上深黄色的的眼睛愈发显得可爱。但是大了，淘气的事儿也多了起来。

祺祺是我小时候养的一只狗狗，它也有一身米黄色的皮毛，甚至有一双大大亮亮地眼睛和长长的睫毛。这只刚出生不满两个月的幼犬曾经给我的童年带来不少不可忽略的快乐。

我提出了最后一个要求：不许把祺祺送到太远的地方去。就这样，我们把祺祺送给了同一个小区的叔叔。那个叔叔有一家小店，我经常能够看到祺祺。在小店的门口躺着的祺祺，似乎确实壮了点儿。但是日子渐渐地长了，祺祺见到我仿佛不像从前那么欢喜了。直到它真的不认识我了。
随着时间的冲洗，我已经长大了，小店关门了，我们也搬了家。我再也见不到祺祺了。

在我精心喂养下，它们长得飞快。原本一只手就能托起来，很快就大到要两只手来抱了。看着它们一天天长大，我也十分期待它们能有小宝宝。终于，在大年三十那天晚上，母兔子给了我一个大大的'惊喜，它生下了三只小宝宝！它们是那么小，还没我手掌大，一只只争先恐后挤向母亲怀里，而母兔子此时就静静地躺着，温柔地给宝宝们喂奶，那个画面好温馨。母兔子把自己身上的营养都给了小兔子，自己却日渐消瘦，使我不得不感叹母爱的伟大。
本以为它们这个“小家庭”可以持续很久，不幸的是，母兔子后来得了严重的肠胃炎，即使带到了宠物医院看病也无济于事，它提前离开了我们。随后，三只小兔也送人了。

我在二楼房间播着优缓的音乐，静静地看着书。突然一阵急促的叽叽喳喳鸟叫声从几个方向倾泻而下，共同聚向一个地方，我不禁把书放下走出去查看，见大概有十只左右的麻雀有的站在瓦角，有的站在围墙上，有的在电线上，有的在树上，都把头扭向一个方向，急促而不知所措的使劲叫唤着，在它们的视觉中心，我看到一只尚不会飞的小麻雀正扑腾着小翅膀，也在大声向它的父母叔婶们呼救。

我赶紧冲下楼去，嘴巴里发出“呼呼”地驱赶声，手也猛烈地挥舞着，白猫被我的声势吓的赶紧乱窜，可是我看到了不要看到的一幕！无法挽回……。这一刻我不禁对楼下那两只宠物猫的厌恶又升了一级，这一白一麻，一男一女两只猫来院子有两个月了。从它们主人用本地声极嗲地叫唤知道它们一只叫“吉祥“，一只叫“如意”。每次听到那种既放缓又刻意拉长的声调时，我的心头肉都跟着一阵阵的颤抖……。开始时对它们说不上喜欢也谈不上讨厌，但是它们总是半夜三更到我三楼的菜圃里大解，把我的菜秧扒得七零八落。让我既心痛又气愤。接下来我想了几种办法来阻止它们的破坏，比如用打开的伞倒过来挡在楼梯上，但半夜的风会把伞吹飞，于是把干燥的落叶堆到房间门口，猫上楼时我睡梦中一听到声音，就立刻睡眼昏花，稀里糊涂地弹起来去撵那两只家伙。可有时也睡得很死，第二天清晨依然看到我的菜园惨遭踏践！经过苦思冥想我终于找到既简单又轻松对付它们的办法——我在每天睡前用水把整个菜地都湿湿地浇一遍，那爱干净的猫们终于也另觅方便之所了。
我对宠物的态度很复杂，有时看着可爱很喜欢逗逗它们。有时又发现它们很是会察言观色，让我突然又很讨厌，我想以这样的进化速度，宠物们应该很快就会站立着和我们说话了，它们与主人朝夕相处间已经学到了人的处世智慧，不过照我估计宠物们应该不会随便站起来，也不会随便就开口就说话的，因为它们清楚：主人们是不会喜欢它们太懂事、太过聪明的。它们只要知道什么时候到主人那撒个娇，什么时候和主人挨一下，擦一下就能够一生温窝锦食，宠爱有加。
楼下还有另外一只宠物狗，不过命运没猫的好，是只收养的流浪狗，叫阿花，身材像侏儒般，肚子和背部整块下垂，腿短得就像在身子下面随便垫了四块弯皮圈。还瘸了一只腿，不知是小儿麻痹，还是流浪时被人打或是被同类所残。身上黑白相间的花纹，只是花纹的布置相当不妥，多的地方太多，少的地方又太少，一张狗脸给分布的没一块均匀。没有了优雅高突的嘴，使得*面化不像狗头而只是一张狗脸而已！怪不得遭到遗弃。看来命中生成不但是对人而言，对狗也一样，因为我看到很多流浪狗，它们都有明显的身体缺陷。我对它一开始就不喜欢，一是不漂亮可爱，主要是它那种因长期流浪养成的阴暗心理，比如它刚来时低头垂脸，远远的避开人躲到阴暗处，不声不息，一副奴相。一段时间熟悉后就开始占据最舒服的沙发，包括四分之三的院落空间，二只猫只要一踏进它的地盘就会怒火冲天，嘴里发着泼妇一样地声音满院的撵，直到猫跳上围墙，依然还不解气，蹬着脖子还要骂上一阵才肯罢休！

There is no denying the fact that keeping pets is a hotly debated topic today. Some people claim that keeping pets is a good thing to do.
They believe that pets, like cats and dogs, can help relieve the loneliness suffered by senior citizens and other social members who are confined to their homes for this reason or that.
They also argue that keeping pets helps mankind understand animals world and develop positive feelings toward them.
Others, however, hold the opposite view. They regard keeping pets as a useless but harmful thing to do. Firstly, pets can transmit diseases. Secondly, the noises and dung of pets are sources of pollution.
Last but not least, as many rare birds and animals are kept as pets, they will surely be hunted on a large scale, which means a threat to the balance of the ecosystem.
Weighing the arguments of both sides, I am inclined to agree with the latter. Anyway, we can lessen our loneliness and express our love toward animals in other ways. And it is my beliefs that only by placing man and other species on an equal basis can us expect to have a lively and colorful world.
