Christmas is originally a Christian festival, as you can see from the formation of this word, “Christ-mas.” The first part of the word refers to Jesus Christ, and the second part “mas” comes from the word “mass,” referring to a main religious ceremony in some Christian churches. At first, it was celebrated for the birth of Jesus Christ. Nowadays, although some churches still observe this festival for its religious reason, for most people, including Chinese people, Christmas has already become a day of secular celebrations, when people exchange greetings and gifts. However, it is still a biggest festival in the West. It is as important to the Westerners as the Spring Festival is to the Chinese people.
Christmas day is on the 25th of December, and Christmas Eve is of course the evening of the previous day, the 24th December.
Christmas holiday usually lasts for two weeks, during which most schools have a Christmas break. Many families put the Christmas tree in their house, and hang many decorations on the tree. Under the tree, they usually place many Christmas presents. Giving out presents and receiving presents are what kids like best about this festival.
On Christmas Eve, kids would put stockings at the end of their bed, wishing the Santa Claus would come and give them presents.
As to the tradition of giving and receiving presents in Christmas, I think it has something to do with the nativity story. In the nativity story, on the birthday of baby Jesus, there was a bright star shining in the East. There were three kings in the East who saw the star, and they followed the star all the way to Bethlehem where the star stopped. They came to a manger where baby Jesus was lying. They worshiped the little baby and gave him presents. I think this is a beautiful story. It shows a spirit of sharing and love.

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. I’d like to share my teaching dream with you. But before that, I want to say something about the beginning of this dream. In March this year, three teachers from Australia came to our school. During the meeting, we exchanged a lot about education. I found that though we have almost the same teaching philosophy, we have different routines. What impressed me most was that their schools end at 3:00 in the afternoon and have no night classes. I can’t tell which kind of routine is better, but the sharp contrast made me think about a better education. The following is a dreamy school in my mind, in which there is no pressure but pleasure.
In this school, the buildings are well designed, close to nature. In the morning, children can read while enjoying the beautiful sunrise. In the evening, they can exercise by the lake reflecting the amazing sunset. In the spring, they can go to the wild, lie on the lawn, and watch the kite flying in the blue sky. In the summer, they can go to the forest, live in a cabin, and listen to the rhythm of the rain.
Students are free but polite and they respect each other. They can leave at 4:00 every afternoon, or perhaps earlier. They have the freedom to organize time. They can go to the library, go to the lab, the com*r rooms or the playground. They’re self-motivated and have a strong thirst for knowledge. And there are no frequent exams and rankings. Students won’t be forced to wear uniforms everyday, and there is no required hair style. Everyday is so colorful that they are looking forward to the next day when going to bed at night,Every teacher in this school can give a course as they like. There is no tedious rating, no scraps of quantitative management and no rigid standard. Teachers can fully display their personality in class, and they feel very happy and content to teach. Every morning, on thoughts of giving lessons, they are excited. After class, they are delighted , with smiles on their faces. Some experts, scholars and masters are also visiting teachers in this school.Yang Zhenning can give physics classes for a day. Yi Zhongtian opens lectures on Chinese culture for a week. Speaking of music, we can ask Wang Lihong to give music lectures, just as he did in Oxford University. If necessary, we can also invite David Beckham to speak something about the World Cup …
The principal of the school focuses on education rather than waste time in endless meetings and social activities. Teachers’ wages are not high but enough to live comfortably. There are no other things to do except to teach. There are no paper requirements, no titles and no ranks because they don’t need to be judged by those things. Almost every teacher is a well-known scholar and master in a particular field. A language teacher may be a writer at the same time. A math teacher may try to overcome a world-class guess. A physics teacher can win invention awards and a music teacher may return from an International music competition again.
In short, in this school, the principal is satisfied, the teachers are happy and the students are joyful. That’s my dream.
For everyone, there is only one life. Paying attention to safety is an effective way to treat and cherish life. In real life, not everyone has a high sense of safety. You may even deny its importance, because although you have caused many omissions, the disaster just passed you by. Therefore, you rejoice in your luck and even say, "I am a lucky person, and both disaster and misfortune stay away from me." but when you are happy, do you notice that many people around us often have irreparable consequences because of their negligence. According to the statistics of relevant departments, in recent years, the number of abnormal deaths in primary and secondary schools across the country has reached more than XX every year, with an average of more than XX primary and secondary school students dying every day. This means that one class disappears every day.
Campus safety is closely related to each of our teachers and students. It is related to whether the students can grow up healthily and complete their studies smoothly; it is related to whether the teachers can teach and educate people in a quiet and safe environment, and cultivate and bring up all kinds of talents for the country. To do a good job in campus safety is the basis and premise for us to do a good job in all kinds of school work. It is one of the primary tasks of school education. We must make unremitting efforts and implement it. In order to further improve the safety education of our school, the following requirements are put forward:
1、 Improve personal ideological quality.
Unite students, live in harmony with students, and be good at resolving contradictions among students. Fighting and swearing are strictly prohibited. Fighting often starts with swearing, and some students swear has become a mantra and very uncivilized. I think swearing, like fighting, is a manifestation of a person's extremely low intelligence. Don't quarrel with your classmates over trifles, fight, violence inside and outside the campus, and strive to be civilized primary school students.
2、 Pay attention to recess safety.
Please don't do violent activities during recess to avoid all kinds of injury accidents; When walking, be "courteous to the right"; Don't chase and play, don't fight, don't climb, don't crowd, don't rush; Don't play ball or kick ball in front of the classroom.
3、 Obey traffic rules and traffic order.
Go to and from school in a civilized way. Don't ride a motorcycle or take people by bike; Do not take agricultural vehicles, unlicensed vehicles or overloaded vehicles; No roadblocks shall be set up. Two people in a row, three people in a row, and walk on the right side of the road.
4、 Pay attention to food hygiene and form good habits.
Refuse three no foods, no snacks, no raw water, no partial eclipse, no overeating; No spitting, no littering.
5、 Strengthen the awareness of "fire disaster prevention, electric shock prevention and infringement prevention".
Do not smoke, play with fire or burn waste; Do not touch various electrical appliances at will; Do not accept strangers to pick up and visit.
Teachers and students, Rousseau, a French thinker, said: "God made man with a model. After he shaped us, he smashed the model." in this world, everyone's life is. Which person doesn't want to laugh often, and which family doesn't want to be happy? Security is like a colorful silk thread that connects our good wishes to form a stable, peaceful and colorful world.
All good civilization comes first, and wansi safety is the most important. Civilization lies in the handling of details, and safety lies in prevention. Let's take positive action to form a strong atmosphere of "everyone cares about campus safety" in the whole school. We must always strengthen our safety awareness, strive to enhance our self-defense ability, and always keep the alarm bell in mind.

Good morning, everyone. The title of my speech is “What college education means to me”.
For me, college education is a marvelous ship-builder. With great vision, college education has equipped me, first with a powerful propeller--the knowledge in certain field and wide exposure to other disciplines. By devoting myself to my courses in the day and immersing myself in the world literature at night, I’ve amassed the driving force for the future and eiched my soul.
Besides, college education has also provided me with a precise compass--the sense of social responsibility. How can I best serve the public while achieving my self-fulfillmentMy one year’s experience as an English tutor has proved: to be valuable to society as well as to find my place, I have to possess some actual strength and the ability to function well in the most challenging situation. Amid the hectic schedule that balances club activities, sports, and academic courses, I feel the rhythm and beauty in my life, knowing that I ’m on the right way.
And more importantly, college education has set up not only single ships, but also fleets with common destinations. By interacting with friends of common beliefs, I’ve acquired skills of relating to other people.
Now,as a ship about to make my maiden voyage,I’m still not in the position to tell what’s waiting ahead of me,but with a powerful propeller, a precise compass and ardent companions of sailing in the sea of society, I’m ready to be a great sea-explorer. Thank you.
