It is a great honor and pleasure to be here on this beautiful Saturday morning to share with you my sentiments about life and passion for the English language.
About a year and a half ago, I took part in my very first English Speech Contest. When I stood before the microphone with all eyes starring directly at me, I could hardly speak. I stood there, embarrassed and helpless, struggling in vain for the right thing to say. My fears had paralyzed me.
While my passion for English has never changed, I lost my courage to speak in public. When my professor again encouraged me to take part in this Competition, I said “no.” I couldn’t endure yet another painful experience. He looked me straight in the eye and said something that pierced my heart. I will never forget his words. “Look,” he said, “We all have our fears, and you have yours. You could twist your ankle in a basketball game, but then be afraid to ever play again. Running away can never dispel your fears, but action will. A winner is not one who never fails，but one who never quits.”
I spent a whole day with his words twisting and turning in my mind. Then I made the bravest and wisest decision of my life: I would face my fears – and take part in the competition!
As it turned out, my dear old professor was right. Now, here I am, once again standing before a microphone. My heart is beating fast, and my mouth is dry, but most importantly, I have faced my fears -- and that makes all the difference!

I have a dream Every one has his own dream.When I was a little kid ,my dream was even to have a candy shop of my own .But now ,when I am 16 years old ,standing here ,my dreams have already changed a lot.

They have probably heard some horrible stories about other kids and thought we might do the same. Or perhaps they just want to connect with us but are doing it all wrong. My suggestion is: Tell them we want them to trust us as much as we’d like to trust them. If you don’t think you can talk to them, write them a letter and leave it lying around―they are bound to read it.

Needless to say， one of the biggest opportunities given to China is the 20xx Olympic Games. Till now， we have used two sevenths of the preparation time. How much changes have you seen？ New roads， new subway lines， public―exercising equipments with beautiful colors， large blocks of grass fields， and also lots of modern gyms which are under construction.
Other than those， there are even more good effects brought to us by the Olympic Games that cannot be seen directly. For example， more and more people will get to know China. I’m sure the mysterious Chinese culture will attract them strongly.
And the games will also do good to the economy and environment， for it is gaining the attention of foreign investors and the awareness of environmental protection is being strengthened. What is more， Olympic Games give a unique opportunity to inspire and educate a new generation of Chinese youth with the Olympic values and the Olympic spirit. Now that we have seen so many advances， could you even imagine us losing the holding rights？

As we know, you have to learn how to fly much more independently instead of under your parents’ considerate protection when you get into college, which also means you will come across enormous questions that should be solved by yourself. From my point of view, those main problems can fall into three parts.
First of all, the complicated relationship. For one thing, you have to know how cultural differences function in your relationship and respect them. In addition, college students spend less time studying together owing to different courses’ choosing, which requires us to devote more energy to building relationship. For the other thing, it is also vital to communicate with your parents often by using mobile phones or other tools.
Secondly, the temptations. The college serves us a more relaxed environment mixed with other temptations such as the Internet, alcohols and so on. What’s more, the college teachers won’t compel you to study like before, you doze off or play cell phone in class, and you flee up the morning class because you get up too late. Such too frequent behaviors will cripple your passion and enthusiasm towards life, so it is essential for us to resist these temptations and insist pursuing our own goals.
Thirdly, the balance between study and work. Most of us will choose to take a part time job to earn the extra money or just to exercise ourselves. But it is significant to keep a relatively balanced relationship between them since I always regard the study as our main task, so my principle is adjusting work to follow the schedule of study.
In conclusion, whatever issues we meet or miseries we suffer from, confront the hash reality head on, what we can do is remembering the past, living in the present and looking forward to the future.

Learn How to Say No
We've all been taught that we should help people. It is the right thing to do and will make us popular with others. It may even win us favors in return. However, we must be realistic. We can't say yes to every request. If we did, we would fail or go crazy for sure. Sometimes we sim*** don't have the time to help. In this case, we must know how to say no politely.
When we need to say no, here is one method we can try. First, we should tell the truth. If we really can't do something, we should just say so. Second, we should remember to refuse requests politely. We must communicate clearly, but must also be sincere and sympathetic. A true friend will understand. Finally, we must not feel guilty about saying no. Sometimes refusing others is the right thing to do. It can save ourselves, and them, a lot of trouble. In short, we cannot please everyone all the time. Refusing favors is a part of life.

来自网络的高校实*数据显示：有*一半的学生大学期间没有参加过实*，有一小部分同学不明白实*的真正意义。不同的大学、不同的专业学科对实*的要求不一样，有的由学校统一组织联系实*单位，有的由学生自己联系实*单位，有的同学干脆实*期间做与专业无关的事情。有数据显示：86.7%大学生实*求助父母;实**均时间为27.7天，落实实**均用时34.5天;
实*和所学专业的相关度仅有7.3%
实*生是碍于人情招收，1/3实*是体力劳动。如此以来，不说没有实*的大学生，就是参加实*的大学生，其实践的效果可见一斑，致使国内高校大学生实*、毕业设计以及论文答辩的虚假之风甚盛，实践未获真知，倒让大学生长了一些社会不良*气。网络曾流传一个帖子“北大毕业等于零”，从侧面反映了我国高等教育一个怪异的现状。
大学生就业形势
自1999年我国大学扩招，愈来愈多的年轻人进到大学深造，国家的出发点是让更多的人能够接受到高等教育，却忽略教育资源、教育体制一时难以满足，高校教育渐渐遁入重学历教育轻职业教育，重理论轻实践的误区，由此造成了历年毕业人数的大量增加，许多毕业生却找不到工作岗位，带来巨大的社会就业压力。“就业难”、“考研热”、“考公务员热”等凸显就业问题的深刻性与严重性。
目前，高校毕业生就业存在的一个突出矛盾就是毕业生的技能结构和市场需求存在一定的差距，普遍存在毕业生实际的能力与就业岗位衔接不上的问题。而对于招聘企业来说，渴求大量高素质水*的人才。如何来解决这一对矛盾?*年，在一些有识之志的呼吁之下，国家正在认识到大学扩招带来的一些隐忧，***制定“大力发展职业教育，加快培养高技能人才”方针，通过新一轮的教育改革，让大学生在校期间更多地参加实践，与市场和人才岗位相结合，培养大学生实际的工作能力。如西门子、诺基亚、IBM、海尔、TCL、创维、海信、美的等名企，都注重企业后备人才的培养和梯队建设，企业进驻各大高校，培训和选拔具有实践动手能力的优秀大学生。
东南大学学生的实*情况
各位同学可能已经从网络、老师以及学长那里了解了一些本校的实*情况。实*经历不但能为大学生提供接触社会、培养工作能力的机会，同时，也成为大学生人才进入企业的一个管道，企业选人用人更看重实*、培训单位的推荐。实*对工科专业的学生来说尤为重要。大学四年，大学生应锻炼五种能力：学*能力、思考能力、动手能力、创新能力、沟通能力，这五种能力都可以通过实践活动(即实*)来检验。
演讲稿又叫演说词，它是在大会上或其他公开场合发表个人的观点、见解和主张的文稿。演讲稿的好坏直接决
定了演讲的成功与失败。
演讲稿像议论文一样论点鲜明、逻辑性强，但它又不是一般的议论文。它是一种带有宣传性和鼓动性的应用文体，经常使用各种修辞手法和艺术手法，具有较强的感染力。
演讲未必都使用演讲稿，不少著名的演讲都是即兴之作，由别人经过记录流传开来的。但重要的演讲最好还是事先准备好演讲稿，因为演讲稿至少有两个方面的作用：其一，通过对思路的精心梳理，对材料的精心组织，使演讲内容更加深刻和富有条理。其二，可帮助演讲者消除临场紧张、恐惧的`心理，增强演讲者的自信心。

演讲和表演、作文有很大的区别。
首先，演讲是演讲者就人们普遍关注的某种有意义的事物或问题，通过口头语言面对一定场合的听众，直接发表意
见的一种社会活动。
其次，作文是作者通过文章向读者单方面的输出信息，演讲则是演讲者在现场与听众双向交流信息。严格地讲，演讲是演讲者与听众、听众与听众的三角信息交流，演讲者不能以传达自己的思想和情感、情绪为满足，他必须能控制住自己与听众、听众与听众情绪的应和与交流。所以，为演讲准备的稿子就具有以下三个特点：
主要特点
第一、针对性。演讲是一种社会活动，是用于公众场合的宣传形式。它为了以思想、感情、事例和理论来晓喻听众，打动听众，“征服”群众，必须要有现实的针对性。所谓针对性，首先是作者提出的问题是听众所关心的问题，评论和论辨要有雄辩的逻辑力量，要能为听众所接受并心悦诚服，这样，才能起到应有的社会效果;其次是要懂得听众有不同的对象
和不同的层次，而“公众场合”也有不同的类型，如党团**、专业性会议、服务性俱乐部、
学校、社会团体、宗教团体、各类竞赛场合，写作时要根据不同场合和不同对象，为听众设计不同的演讲内容。
第二、可讲性。演讲的本质在于“讲”，而不在于“演”，它以“讲”为主、以“演”为辅。由于演讲要诉诸口头，拟稿时必须以易说能讲为前提。如果说，有些文章和作品主要通过阅读欣赏，领略其中意义和情味，那么，演讲稿的要求则是“上口入耳”。一篇好的演讲稿对演讲者来说要可讲;对听讲者来说应好听。因此，演讲稿写成之后，作者最好能通过试讲或默念加以检查，凡是讲不顺口或听不清楚之处(如句子过长)，均应修改与调整。
第三、鼓动性。演讲是一门艺术。好的演讲自有一种激发听众情绪、赢得好感的鼓动性。要做到这一点，首先要依靠演讲稿思想内容的丰富、深刻，见解精辟，有独到之处，发人深思，语言表达要形象、生动，富有感染力。如果演讲稿写得*淡无味，毫无新意，即使在现场“演”得再卖力，效果也不会好，甚至相反。
第四、整体性演讲稿并不能独立地完成演讲任务，它只是演讲的一个文字依据，是整个演讲活动的一个组成部分。演讲主体、听众对象、特定的时空条件，共同构成了演讲活动的整体。撰写演讲稿时，不能将它从整体中剥离出来。为此，演讲稿的撰写要注意以下几个方面：
首先，要根据听众的文化层次、工作性质、生存环境、品位修养、爱好愿望来确立选题，选择表达方式，以便更好地沟通。
其次，演讲稿不仅要充分体现演讲者独到、深刻的观点和见解，而且还要对声调的高低、语速的快慢、体态语的运用进行设计并加以注释，以达到最佳的传播效果。
另外，还要考虑演讲的时间、空间、现场氛围等因素，以强化演讲的现场效果。
第五、口语性
口语性是演讲稿区别于其他书面表达文章和会议文书的重要方面。书面性文章无需多说，其他会议文书如大会工作报告、领导讲话稿等，并不太讲究口语性，虽然由某一领导在台上宣读，但听众手中一般也有一份印制好的讲稿，一边听讲一边阅读，不会有什么听不明白的地方。演讲稿就不同了，它有较多的即兴发挥，不可能事先印好讲稿发给听众。为此，演讲稿必须讲究“上口”和“入耳”。所谓上口，就是讲起来通达流利。所谓入耳，就是听起来非常顺畅，没有什么语言障碍，不会发生曲解。具体要做到：
把长句改成适听的短句;
把倒装句改为常规句;
