晚上回到家他向妻子和孩子说了之后，虽然他们彼此有些不舍得，但是渔夫还是去了，到了那里渔夫找到了一个厂子，在里面打工，里面的工作挺轻松的也能挣钱，在渔夫回家的时候，渔夫非常高兴，在那里拿到了工钱，买了很多的粮食，回到家后，妻子和孩子们看到了这种场面非常高兴。
就这样渔夫又去那个岛上继续赚钱，他们的日子也越过越好，吃的东西不用愁，孩子们都有了崭新的衣服，和鞋子。
渔夫看见了两个孩子和自己的孩子睡在一起，就对桑娜说：“桑娜，你做的可真好，可是，你为什么不直接告诉我你已经把孩子抱回来了哪？”桑娜说：“先别问这些了，先想以后该怎么办吧。”渔夫愁眉苦脸地想想说：“是个大问题，以后该怎么办呀？”他们两个想来想去，也没有想出什么好办法，看来只有渔夫多打一些鱼来养活着一家人了。
第二天，天还没亮，渔夫就出海打鱼去了，这一天，渔夫拿了两张网，撒下去之后，过了一会，一张网被拉了上来，鱼网中只有稀稀落落几条鱼，渔夫看见这样的情景神色黯然，心想像这样下去可怎么办呀，上帝呀可怜可怜我这苦命的孩子吧，心里想着，一面画着十字。当第二张网拉上来时捞上了好多鱼渔夫顿时心情开心了。他满载而归，桑娜见到渔夫十分开心，于是便去厨房煮鱼去了。日子一天一天的过去了，昔日的几个孩子已变成七个小伙子了。
某一天，父子八人一起去打鱼，当鱼网拉回来时。天上突然刮起了大风，这是海上波涛汹涌，海浪起伏不定，他们划得非常吃力。过了几个小时他们终于回到了家。这次与打得比较多，于是准备卖掉一些鱼。过了一夜，两个小伙子背着鱼和桑娜一起去卖鱼，而剩下的五个小伙子和渔夫去打鱼去了。
日子就这样过着，他们虽不富裕，但很幸福很快乐。
眨眨眼，日月星辰，许许多多个365天过去了。七个孩子都长成了俊男俏女了，这二十年来他们饥寒交迫，寝食难安，尽管这样这一家人还是艰苦地熬过了。
火炉旁边坐着两个白发苍苍的老人，他们的身躯十分疲惫，他们的脸上写满岁月的沧桑。他们便是如今的渔夫和桑娜。
在这二十年里，他们饱经风霜，向富人家借钱供孩子读书，在东凑西凑之中，只凑得了仅限两个孩子读书的金额。他们很无奈，因为自己的全部积蓄已在其中，再拿不出分毫。最后他们选择让西蒙的两个孩子读书，一个叫路卡，一个叫路塔斯。当自己的五个孩子用渴望的乞求的眼神吵着：“我想上学，我要上!”这时桑娜和渔夫就感到揪心的痛。
现在路卡与路塔斯事业有成，聪明机智，不枉渔夫和桑娜的苦心。
“咚——咚——”一阵急促的敲门声。
渔夫健步如飞赶快开门，因为太激动还碰倒了一个罐子。“爸!妈”两个孩子含着泪水，听到这亲切的呼声桑娜心里暖暖的，比棉被还暖，比火炉还暖，比太阳的光芒还暖。路卡放下手中的行李，猛地扑进渔夫的怀里，顿时他感觉父亲顷刻间老了许多，身板竟如此瘦弱。
“大家都还好吗?”路塔斯缓缓走*家中，“我太想家啦!”桑娜摸摸她的脸，“托上帝的福，大家都好。”
渔夫叹了口气：“唉，孩子们有件事我不得不和你们说，其实我们不是你们的亲父母，你们的父母已经走了……”
路卡和路塔斯异口同声地回答：“你们永远都是我们的父母!
第二天，早早就起床的渔夫和妻子桑娜在一旁看着面带微笑的睡着的孩子们，都笑了……
桑娜做好了早餐,几个孩子端正地坐在桌子边，狼吞虎咽起来。很快，他们就把碗里的食物吃完了。桑娜告诉几个孩子，自己家将要多出两个弟弟了，希望几个孩子能和他们友好相处。
“妈妈，我们会的！”一位最大的孩子回答道。
“是啊！”、“恩，我们会的。”其他几个孩子也应和着，“我们一定会照顾好两个弟弟的！”说着，还拉起他们的手。
桑娜欣慰地说：“你们真棒！”她一一亲吻孩子们的额头，几个孩子都开心地跑出家门去，开始了今天一天的玩耍：他们一会儿打水仗，一会儿晒太阳，一会儿游泳，玩得可开心了。还跑到后山上摘果子，眺望远方，希望能见到父亲那艘小小的船……
也许幸运之神会眷顾善良的渔夫，渔夫今天遇到了鱼群，可算是满载而归。今天的晚餐可算是有找落了，不知那七个孩子会高兴成什么样啊。“我回来了，”渔夫喊着，“看看今天的收获吧！”几个孩子看见有这么多的鱼，高兴得欢蹦乱跳。
夜，渔夫和妻子桑娜听着几个孩子今天在玩耍的事，都笑了起来，充满了家的温馨。
夜深了，几个孩子躺在床上，听着妈妈唱安眠曲，慢慢进入了梦乡。渔夫夫妇看着这可爱的七个孩子，笑了。
在这七个孩子身上，桑娜看见了无数的希望…
“你瞧，他们在这里啦。”桑拿拉开了帐子。
渔夫看到了这两个可爱的小孩子，心里又是担忧，有是欢喜，但有时因为怕自己养不活这两个孩子，欢喜是因为家里添加了一份幸福。
早晨醒来，桑娜在一个简陋的桌子上摆了一些黑面包，因为丈夫昨天打鱼时，因有风暴一无所获。过了一会儿，丈夫准备出海大鱼了，桑娜知道了赶紧跑到丈夫身旁说：“一定要小心啊！我和孩子们等你回来。”丈夫说：“不用担心，我一定会*安回来的。”
天空上的太阳照射着海面，多么温暖啊！海面上波涛起伏，几只海鸥在天上自由飞翔，好像在寻找这天空的尽头。桑娜的孩子都醒了，那两个黄头发的孩子也醒了，这他两个孩子醒来就哇哇大叫，桑娜把所有的黑面包拿到孩子们面前，把最好的两块给了正在哭的两个小孩，然后分了其他面包，这两个孩子渐渐停止了哭泣开始吃面包，桑娜坐在板凳上眼睛里的泪珠在眼眶里打转，看着孩子们吃面包。
到了下午，桑娜的丈夫回来了，桑娜问：“怎么这么早就回来了？”渔夫高兴的说：“今天大丰收了，我打到了许多美味的鱼！”桑娜高兴的说：“真的吗？孩子们有肉吃了。”那两个孩子已经容到了这个大家庭，他同孩子们在沙滩上玩啥子呢！桑娜很高兴。
今天真是一个美好的一天。
一晃十几年过去了，桑娜和渔夫已经满头白发，不能动了。他们的儿子和西蒙的儿子都长大了，西蒙的儿子为了报答桑娜和渔夫的养育之恩，也出海打鱼来支撑他们困难的生活，因为桑娜和渔夫的孩子去上学了。
一天，西蒙的两个孩子正常地出海打鱼，等这两兄弟划着小船离开岸边时，哥哥发现了浅滩上的一个闪光点，便向弟弟说了，弟弟决定前往查看，不看不要紧，一看吓一跳！原来是一个约重2百克的金砖，哥弟捡起这块金砖跑上岸。
他们连船都没停好，便向家跑去，向桑娜与渔夫诉说了这件事。渔夫思考了片刻后，说：“这块金砖我们不能要！你们在哪儿捡到的金砖，就在哪儿放回去。”
过了不久，一个风*浪静的一天，兄弟俩正收拾东西，准备出海打鱼。这时，响起了敲门声：“砰砰……”
兄弟俩赶忙去开门，门外是一群西装革履的人，问：“你们有没有在海边看见一块金砖，这块金砖对我们无比重要，请你们实话实说。”兄弟俩沉默了一阵。
“我们看见了，在海滩边，需要我们带你们去吗？”兄弟说。
“谢谢，请你们带路。”兄弟俩把他们带到了捡到金砖的海滩边，不出意外，金砖安静地躺在海滩上。
“谢谢，其实我们是在做一个调查，调查人性是什么？”
“恭喜你们，你们可以把这块金砖拿走了，你们通过了我们的测试。”
从此，渔夫一家人过上了富裕的生活，衣食无忧。

看着七个孩子渐渐长大，既健康又快乐。我懂得了，拥有善良、勇敢的内心，已经让桑拿夫妇不再是“穷人”了！
