TREAT STUDENTS AS ADULTS, NOT CHILDREN

Some time ago, China’s Ministry of Education banned university students from renting private accommodation during their studies. This has given rise to a heated discussion. Some people, especially school management and most parents, embrace such a ban, while others criticize it fiercely. Personally, I am against the ban.

First, most college students are adults and should enjoy the right to choose where to live. In banning off-campus housing, the education authorities seem to believe that college students, most aged 18-22, should be treated as children, rather than adults. Some administrators claim that students lack self-control and cannot make proper decisions for themselves. This is surely not fair treatment for such a bright young generation. If these students didn’t attend colleges, but worked in companies or joined the army, they would be treated as adults.

Secondly, private accommodation is indeed preferable to living on campus for many students. It is true that living on campus promotes a sense of belonging by being closely connected with other students. This could truly be a valuable part of the four-year college education. Students living on campus also have easier access to vast school resources, such as libraries, computer rooms and various evening seminars. But crowded dormitories, high noise levels, early electricity curfews and other strict codes also make dorms less attractive. At least dorms are not the right home for everyone.

Off-campus housing, meanwhile, offers a greater degree of freedom. That is especially true for self-motivated students, students studying late for important tests or working late on academic projects. Many students living off-campus also share rooms. They have to negotiate contracts, pay utilities and probably cook for themselves. All help prepare students to better manage their study and life. In fact this also conforms to most schools’ creed that students should be in touch with the real world as much as possible.

One of the motives for the housing ban is that education authorities hope this will help prevent students from cohabitation and having sex during school years. But since students can now legally marry in schools, why should they be banned from having sex? Reality tells us that this is wishful thinking. Banning sex among students has been and will be a mission impossible. This is probably why some schools have installed condom vending machines on campus or provide free condoms in school clinics, which tells students to have safe sex, rather than no sex.

To sum up, we should treat students as adults instead of children. Though there might be problems in allowing students to leave off campus, we should not give up eating for fear of choking, as the Chinese idiom says. In today’s diversified world, schools should show respect to students in making their own choices. After all, schools are not military barracks and students are not soldiers.

Different people have different hobbies. Some like singing some like playing and others like collecting.?

I like collecting things too. But I don’t like collecting stamps or coins. And instead I like collecting cartoon books drawn by Japanese. I like them because the pictures in the books are all very beautiful and many stories are exciting and nice.?

Many parents and teachers don’t think that the cartoon books are very good for students but I don’t agree with them. I know some of them are not good but just some. Beauty always needs to be discovered. The books include many kinds of life and spirit and also many things we have never heard about before. Besides that I also like collecting beautiful pictures VCDs photos etc.?

When I see some good things I’ll save money for them. When it’s enough I’ll buy them and bring them home. I always put them on a shelf and keep them clean and tidy.

Yesterday was the first day of the new semester. Everything here is new to me. Our school is an old school, but it is very beautiful.

There are new students in my class who are excellent. I feel a little sad because I am too ordinary. But now think about it, it is a good thing.

I believe that if I can study with such excellent students, I will also be very good. I don't know why Microsoft chose me as the student committee, but I know it's a good opportunity to improve my ability. All I can do is try my best in the future.

I believe that when I do something wrong, Microsoft and my classmates can help me, because they are very happy to work and study with them. I'm really glad that I'm not an excellent student in this class, but I can do the same thing like others. I'm sure I won't let anyone down.

Smoking should be banned Nowadays, tobacco is more harmful than drug to people's health, therefore many people think that smoking isn't banned that is a direct and primary reason to induce this kind of problem

The main reason is that tobacco is a silent killer to smokers According to a WHO report four million people die yearly from tobacco-related diseases, that is one death every eight seconds

Another reason is that more and more young people are under 18 years old who smoke cigarette have been blinded by the deceit of tobacconists Smoking among adolescents rose in the 1990s in several developed countries, such as China, Vietnam and Thailand Tobacco is a global threat Because of tobacco smuggling, the legal retailing and distribution systems are badly affected, and faced with increased lawlessness and heavy tax losses

In conclusion, smoking should be banned, because of the hazard it poses to people's health.

Since ancient times, there have been countless good sentences chanted because of concern. Wang Wei‘s concern for his relatives and friends is that he is alone in a foreign country and thinks twice about his relatives and friends every holiday; Li Bai’s concern for his hometown is that he looks up to the bright moon and bows his head to think about his hometown; Li Shangyin‘s concern for his lover is that he cuts the Western window candles but talks about the rain at night in Bashan. In today’s society, people‘s concern for their relatives and friends is no longer that of the moon, but that of using technology to release themselves The emotion of.

When people are worried about their relatives and friends, they just need to search out their mobile phones from their pockets, input the number of each other, and then press the dial key gently. When the other party is connected, they can hear his voice. Or online and his video, voice chat, very convenient, fast, do not have to suffer from Acacia.

When people miss their hometown, they only need to search the electronic map on the Internet and look at themselves by satellite

My hometown。 In the electronic map, you can see the local customs of your hometown, the great rivers and mountains of your hometown, and even what your relatives are doing in different places. It’s very convenient. You don‘t have to dream about the moon any more.

But now, can people’s concern be regarded as the real concern? Is that kind of “continuous cutting and disorderly reasoning” sorrow? Is that kind of “first smell tears full of clothes” concern? Now the long—time relatives meet, without that sentence contains a strong feeling of “you have changed”. Now wandering around, there will be no more soil with the smell of native grass。 Now that couples have been separated for a long time, they will no longer stare at each other for a long time? Although high technology is irreplaceable, the so—called concern of the ancients has gradually receded. I wonder if those scientists with advanced minds will invent 3D projection mobile phones in the future to make the image of each other appear in front of you.

High tech is a trend, it is as inevitable as the ebb and flow of the tide. Instead of rejecting high technology, we should accept it and develop with its development. But should we also leave a place for tradition? Let that traditional, primitive feeling open up a virgin land in the modern society of high—tech flood, not be disturbed by it, and keep it forever.

And care, in this virgin land of the indigenous people, naturally should live in this for a long time. People don‘t use high—tech to release their concerns every day. That kind of concern is not a concern but a habit. I believe that in the long run, people will not have the feeling of “more timid near the countryside, dare not ask people”. How terrible that is!

Throughout most of China’s long history, therelationships between people were based on carefullyprescribed forms of behavior, that is,etiquette.Learning and following etiquette is soimportant that people are always judged by howclosely they follow these rules of behaviors. For thosewho do not follow those prescribed rules of conduct, they are regarded as uncivilizedbarbarians.

However,as China has been increasingly entangled in the global village, many Chinese people, especially the young, have lost some traditions because of the influences of Western cultures.According to a famous professor, the majority of Chinese college students have not hadsystematic training on traditional Chinese etiquette. As for me, traditional etiquette shouldbe taught in class.

Firstly, if college students can receive a systematic education in traditional etiquette inclass, they can get more prepared for the future. As is known, college students usually havelearnt some traditional etiquette through daily interaction with friends and relatives, but theprocess is time-consuming. They have to be sensitive enough to observe other people’sbehaviors and then know what proper behaviors in different social situations are. Sometimesthe learning process is by trial and error. They can only form right behaviors after breaking therules of conduct and being corrected by the costly consequence. If they have already taken asystematic etiquette course in college, they can follow proper etiquette and have a moreguaranteed future.

Secondly, as these meticulous rules of conduct have been formed throughout Chinesehistory, they are unique Chinese characteristics and are inseparable to Chinese culture.Withthe advent of globalization ,western culture is so influential that many young people often lookto Western customs and etiquette as being fashionable. For example, nowadays most youngwomen in China would like to wear western-style white dresses and veils at wedding whiletraditional Chinese weddings feature red gowns for brides and white is an absolute taboo. Inthe long term,if the trend to adopt western etiquette can not be curbed, the Chinesegenerations in the future will lose their cultural identity.

Furthermore, the extinction of Chinese etiquette will be to the detriment of the diversity ofglobal culture. To some extent, the course can serve to arouse college students’ cultural prideand help to preserve and further develop Chinese culture. In conclusion, taking traditionalChinese etiquette in college will not only make graduates more prepared for their future, butalso can constitute an important measure for college studentsto form Chinese culturalidentity and therefore to preserve Chinese tradition and further develop it.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Universities should give the same amount of money to their students sports activities as they give to their university libraries. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.

I disagree strongly with the idea that the same amount of money should go to university sports activities as to university libraries. Although playing sports is a wonderful way to learn about teamwork, strategy and reaching your goals, it should not be the principal focus of a university education.

Students need the most up-to-date library facilities available to get the best education. Many of those facilities are very expensive to buy and maintain. These include com*rized programs and access to internet research databases that students can use to find information all around the world. If a university is only offering its students resources of a decade ago, it’s depriving those students of a tremendous amount of information.

Even the book and magazine budget of universities has gone up tremendously in last decade. More is being published on every subject, and every university wants to have this information available to its students.

It also costs money for universities to keep their libraries open. Students need to have access to all the libraries research tools as much of time as possible. Because students are young and can stay up all night studying, many universities are starting to leave their libraries open all night during exam periods. This costs money, because the staff has to be paid extra to be there. It also costs money to run the building (electricity, heat) during that time.

Students at universities are only going to benefit from their education if they can get to all the tools they need to learn. Sports are secondary to the resources that students need from university libraries. For this reason, libraries should always be better funded than sport activities.

Peoples ideas about donating blood vary from person to person. Some people think that it is glorious to donate blood. They hold this opinion because those who are in urgent need of blood can be saved. However, others hold that it is foolish for people to donate blood. In their opinion, blood is very precious and losing 200ml or more may do harm to their health.

As to me, I am in favor of the first idea. The following are the reasons for my choice.First, while it is true that the loss of too much blood is dangerous to ones health,it does not mean that donating a little blood is also harmful. On the contrary, doctors say that donating a little blood can promote metabolism.Second, there are many people who need our help. If my little donation of blood can pull back somebody on the way to death, will there be anything that can make me happier?

In a word, donating blood is glorious.

The Role of Luck in Success

It has been said that when people succeed, it is because of hard work and that luck has nothing to do with success. Although I believe that hard work is very important and is the surest way to success for most people, I must disagree with this statement. It cannot be denied that luck often plays an important role in success. For example, many important discoveries have been made by accident. There have been many cases of researchers and inventors making major breakthroughs while they were actually trying to solve another problem or create a different device. Furthermore, there is something to be said for sim* being in the right place at the right time-perhaps meeting someone by chance who can offer a good job or rare opportunity. And of course, there are the rare examples of gamblers and lottery winners who beat the odds and achieve sudden and unexpected success.

While the influence of luck cannot be ignored, this is not to say that one should depend on it and ignore the value of hard work. If one is willing to work hard, I believe that success will eventually be achieved, with or without the added benefit of luck. Moreover, hard work is often an essential ingredient of luck because it enables one to take advantage of a lucky encounter. If the scientist has not worked hard to develop his knowledge and skills, he may not recognize that lucky breakthrough when it comes along. Therefore, my suggestion is not to count on luck to bring you success. Instead, work hard and keep your eyes open for that lucky opportunity.

Some people are committed to their dreams and work hard to achieve their goals. What is guiding them is a kind of illusion. Some people think that illusion is good for success while others argue that it is not so good because it may get people unrealistic. As far as I am concerned, illusion is necessary in our life only if it is encouraging and realistic.

There are several reasons.First of all, there is power in illusion. The illusion can lead people to the path they want to go on and it gives us passion. We need to live each moment wholeheartedly, with all our senses so that we can find pleasure in the fragrance of backyard garden, the crayoned picture of a six-year-old, and the enchanting beauty of a rainbow. The illusion can be enthusiastic love of life that puts sparkle in our eyes, a lilt in our steps and smoothes the wrinkles from our souls.

Secondly, we are born with wide-eyed, enthusiastic wonder as anyone knows who has ever seen an infant’s delight at the jingle of keys or the scurrying of a beetle. It is this childlike wonder and illusion that gives enthusiastic people such a youthful air, no matter how old they are. For example, the famous cellist Pablo Casals would start his day by playing Bach. Music, for him, was an elixir that made life a never-ending adventure. As author and poet Samuel once wrote, “Years wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.”

Lastly, people with illusions also love what they do, regardless of money or power or title. If we cannot do what we love as a full-time career, we can as do a part-time vocation, like the head of state who paints, the nun who runs marathons and the executive who handcrafts furniture. We cannot afford to waste tears and energy and time on “might-have-beens”. We need to turn the tears into sweat as we go after “what-can-be”.

To sum up, God gives each bird its food, but he does not throw it into its nest. Wherever you want to go, just cherish your precious illusion and let your dream be realized.

  Should College Education Be Vocation-Oriented?

Due to the increased enrollment of college studentsin recent years, the total number of graduatescoming out at the same time is such that manycollege graduates have difficulties in procuring jobs, especially when the economy is suffering slowdown. And then many scholars suggest that collegesshould lay emphasis onvocational training bysetting relative courses in the college curriculum so that graduates are more likely to beemployed. Taking the employers’ requirement into consideration, that is, working experience, the suggestion seems reasonable. However, I think, even if universities become vocation-oriented, it can not serve well for the employment. Besides, the vocational orientation will doharm to the higher education.

Firstly, the suggestion seems to be based on the fact that new college graduates may havelearned mountains of theories but lack practical abilities. In accord with this suggestion, ifcollege students have received enough vocational training and gained experience in internship, they are likely to get employed. Admittedly, self-improvement is crucial for new graduates tohunt jobs. But the suggestion does not take into account job vacancies in the present. ThoughChina’s economy keeps growing at a rate of about 9% in the recent and the number of jobsdoes increase, too many graduates coming out at a time will create great pressure for the jobmarket. As an official stated, “the grand college enrollment plan is one of the main reasons forthe current unemployment issue”. Therefore, even if college students have enough experienceand skills, will they succeed in procuring jobs when there are no positions available at all?

Secondly, vocational orientation is to the detriment of the higher learning in the long term.Let us beginwith the difference in goals between university and vocational training. As collegestudents may decide tofinish his studies after graduation or may continue at a higherlevel, university courses should thus provide both basic knowledge and a sound basis for furtherstudies. In vocational training, the goals of a given course are distinct, that is, the course isdesigned to teach trainees basic knowledge and skills. In consequence, if universities arevocation-oriented, students at college can not get prepared in class for a higher level oflearning. Predictably, the pyramid of higher learning will crumble if universities can notproduceenough qualified students.

In conclusion, vocation-orientation may help improve graduates’ skills but it can not increasethe numberof available positions. The suggestion just offers a wrong remedy, and will do harmto the higher learning.

As we all know, the technological advancements are on the move at an unprecedented speedin the present society. Some people think that as technology develops traditional culture willbe lost whereas some others do not think so.

As far as I am concerned, the technology does harm to the traditional culturein some sensebut it can alsoprotect it from dying out. In other words, the technological advancement is adouble-blade sword. We need to realize it in a didactic way.

First of all, the technology is a little harmful to the traditional culture. Due to the emergenceof the new technology, some forms of art have been dead for many years. Some culturalheritage has been threatened.Take the jade carving for example. The craftsmanship has beendisrupted due to the popularity of the new technology. The works of art has been producedthrough the machines rather than the hands of the craftsmen. Therefore, the art has lost themost important part of its taste. Most of the artistic works are the products of the factories.

Secondly, the new technology helps the traditional culture spread more widely. For example, many exhibits in the Palace Museum have been available visually online. Visitors do not haveto go to the museum but just stay at home to enjoy the heritage. It is the technology that hasmade all this possible. One more example, Peking opera is the national essence of our culture. The plays of the veteran artists have been kept with the help of the technology. We will feelthat these great artists are not far away from us and that wecan still learn from their goodperformances. Nowadays we all read many good books, which have been a mostimportantcarrier of our traditional culture. Thanks to all the presses and publishing houses, we canreadso many books and they help carry on our culture through their printing technology.

To sum up, we should be aware of the disadvantages of the technology and make the two gohand in hand in harmony. On the one hand, the technology helps to protect and spread thetraditional culture. On the other hand, the traditional culture may promote the technologydevelopment.

In the past ten years, com*r technology has been developed a lot. In the train of com*r games come to alive. It is the product of high technology. Some people treasure it, but some afraid of it. It is interesting, relaxed, but easy wallow. It is necessary to figure out how to use it properly. As far as I am concerned, I have a few suggestions.

First of all, playing com*r games is a good way to relax in the great stress society. It is well-known that living in the current society is full of great pressure. People need to find ways to relax themselves, to solve their emotion problem. There is no doubt that playing com*r game is a comparable way to relax. When people playing com*r games, they will forget everything annoyed them. They can absolutely get a good rest.

On the other hand, com*r game is full of attractive. Most people do not do well in self-discipline. So they are easily got addicted in it. And then they may play com*r games for a long time, making themselves become more tired. As a consequent, they can’t get relax from playing com*r games, but also affect their life quality.

To sum up, nothing is good or bad for everyone and all the time. If people can make use of com*r games, they will get lots of benefits from it. Otherwise, the result may be not good. So, I suggest people play com*r games for a short time, not a long time, and play it now and then, not all the time.

I definitely believe that a regular amount of suitable daily exercise is an important factor in maintaining ones health. The focus is on the word “suitable" because a persons age and physical condition can dictate the type and amount of exercise that is appropriate.

There is a wide variety of exercise routines available to suit people of all ages and condition but it is wise to seek the advice of a doctor before taking on a fitness program that may not be suitable: The growth of fitness studios in the big cities has made it easier for busy people to work out a program to fit their time schedule. Most of these studios are staffed with competent and qualified professionals who can tailor a fitness program to best suit one’s needs. Some people rely on sport to provide the exercise they need but some sports carry a risk of injury. People who lead a sedentary life that does not involve much physical activity can offset this through isometric exercises. While the professional studios come equipped with all the latest machines and aids, there are plenty of ways a person can get sufficient exercise without incurring the cost associated with studio fees. Walking or riding a bike are excellent sources of providing free exercise but one of the most popular is the regular practice of the Tai Chi movements.

In conclusion, daily exercise is important for health and there are many ways to do this which cost little amounts of money.

I am not supportive of the idea that either takes priority. It is necessary and absolutely possible that economic development and environmental protection co-exist, in the sense that both of them are indispensable factors for the prosperity of society.

Economic development is seemingly more important, due to the fact that it creates enormous job opportunities, improves living conditions and increases government revenues. Yet, the above goals can only really be reached on condition that the environment is well protected. And, interesting, it is the economic development per se that provides the money and personnel resources required for the protection of the environment. A well-preserved environment is the groundwork for the economy and in a way promotes economic growth. A fast-development and well-functioning economy calls for a good environment, which offers essential resources, e.g. wood, coal, water, and so on. Once the environment deteriorates, the production process is likely to be disturbed or even halted. What is worse, natural disaster that comes with the worsening environmental conditions might even paralyze the whole economy and pose a severe threat to human life. The pursuit of short-term economic profit is the destruction of our home and that of our posterity.

So economic development and environmental protection are equally important. In this case, we are actually working on an environment-friendly economy.

Any opinion is,in fact,a judgment.I feel that as Americans we would do well to judge othersless often.Still,we must be able to decide whom to spend our time with and whom we’d ratherforget. In my opinion, this type of judgment is best after we get to know other people.Firstimpressions are not always accurate impression.

Judging a person based on a first impression does save time. There are more people thananyone could possibly get to know in one lifetime. It is frustrating to waste time getting toknow someone, only to find out that your first impression was correct and that you really don’tlike him or her.So is it a waste of time getting to know people your probably won’t like? Thatseems to be a valid point of view, but I believe that it is not the best attitude to take.

It’s more humane to spend time getting to know people before judging them.I know that Idon’t always make a good first impression even when I truly like the person with whom I aminteracting. We all have bad days,I wouldn’t want to lose a job or a potential friendship sim*because I picked out the wrong clothing or said something wrong.I think everyone deserves thechances make a second impression.

If we all base our final opinion of others on first impression,it would be hard to get to knowanyone. There is always more to people than meets the eye.If we don’t give someone a chance,we may be missing out on meeting a life-long friend. That would truly be shame.

As the technology and economic is developing, the environment problem is being a severe problem, and the people are seriously affected.

The sustained damage to the environment has caused a serious problem, such as air pollution, sand storm, extraordinary weather, and diseases etc.,people suffer from what they have done to the environment.

However.People have realized that it will be too late if they don’t do anything to prevent things from getting worse. For example, there is an “Earth Hour” on a Saturday of March of each year.It is a global movement, usually it lasts from 8:30pm to 9:30pm.It is also called “Light-off for One Hour”.During this hour, all the light will be turned off.The purpose of this movement is not only to save energy, but also to warn the people to realize the importance of protecting the mother earth, and to stop violating the environment.

Anyway, people and the environment have to keep a balance relationship.People take from the environment, and have to protect it too.

As you all know, due to excessive for mankind to nature, has led to a merciless retaliatory nature: hurricanes, rain, storms, floods, drought, pests, heat, forest fires, earthquakes and other disasters enters the room, all over the world due to reasons such as drought the migration of refugees is expected to reach 100 million people by 20xx.

Also attaches great importance to the education of environmental protection in our country,to create "green schools" is one of important content, environmental protection and greening in our school has achieved fruitful results.

We often see many students on the campus every corner of the collecting of debris-brick; With their own hands to protect the beautiful campus environment. However,we still exist some deficiencies: still wish someone throw the paper scraps,Those who trample on the lawn.Green school, found that have a deep footprints, from time to time in some places even gone a trail.

My younger cousin got in trouble at school for kicking some other students. When asked why he did it, he responded that he had been imitating his favorite cartoon character. He had seen this behavior and decided to act similarly. His parents had enormous difficulties getting him to stop. This showed me that TV shows can be more influential than parents. Finally, young people often feel like they have nothing in common with their parents, so their parents influence in their live decreases. Young people think their parents do. For example, many parents are not as proficient as their children are at using modern technology. They might not even know how to surf the Internet or use an MP3 player. This gap in knowledge makes it very hard for them to find common ground with their parents. In conclusion, modern media and the world of technology have much stronger influences on young people than their parents do. As young people get more absorbed in television, movies celebrities, and their friends, parents should expect to continue losing more control over their children. Many believe that outside influences have stronger effects on young people than their parents do. This, however, is a mistaken belief.

The last several decades have seen a decline in parental influence on their children. In fact,it seems that the more children watch movies and television and get influenced by people outside the home, the more their parents lose control over them. Nowadays, children and teens are often searching for role models other than their parents to imitate.

They naturally look to celebrities like singers, movie stars, and athletes to be their guides. For example, many high school students like to dress in the latest fashions that have been made popular by various celebrities. They even cut their hair like famous people or say the same things as them. Parents sim* cannot complete with these stars when it comes to influencing their children.

Many television shows, movies, and video games have high levels of violent content and bad language, which greatly influence young people watching them. Children have begun acting badly based upon what they have seen on various media.

When it comes to______________, in my part, I prefer A to B as my inclination. My arguments for this point are listed as follows.

I agree with the statement that _________ without reservation(直率地,坦白地,无条件地) since ___________. Naturally___________. It can be given a concrete example__________.

A more essential factor why I advocate the argument of __________is that. Obviously ________________. Take the case of a thing that ____________.

From what has been discussed above, we may finally draw the conclusion that_____________.

There may be by one or two disadvantages to ___________________; however, I believe that there are far more

advantages. My arguments for this point are listed as follows.

First of all, perhaps one disadvantages to____________is that______________. For instance, __________________. Another drawback to _____________ involves the possibility that____________. For example, ____________.

Even though there may be one or two disadvantages to____________, the advantages far outweigh them. The main reason for my propensity for __________is that _________. For exmaple_____________. Another reason for my inclination for _____________ is that_________________. For example, _________________.

In a word, in spite of the fact that there may be a couple of disadvantages to _____________, I feel that the advantages are more obvious___________. 重复优点 __________.Taking into account all these factors, we may reach the conclusion that _____________.

Finally, young people often feel like they have nothing in common with their parents, so their parents' influence in their live decreases.

Traveling can be wonderful. It introduces us to new experiences, broadens our minds and helps us relax. However, not everyone likes to travel in the same way. Some people prefer to travel alone so that they can do what they like during their trip without having to worry about anyone else. Others like to have a companion to share the experience with. I am one of the latter, because I believe that traveling with someone has many advantages.

When I travel with a companion, I have someone with whom to share what I experience. We can talk over the day’s events and discoveries, and this will make them more interesting. In addition, it is often comforting to have a familiar person around when we are in a strange environment. When I am traveling in a foreign country, I may be unable to speak the language or may be confused by the local customs. With a travel companion, I will always have someone to talk and share my feelings with. Finally, a travel companion can make the journey easier and safer. We can help each other to take the journey easier and safer. We can help each other to take care of our bags and get information, as well as keep each other company while waiting in long lines.

To sum up, I prefer to travel with a companion rather than travel alone. I believe it adds enjoyment and comfort to may trip. And when we return from our journey, my friends and I can share our wonderful memories.

  1、教学应面向全体学生,注重对学生进行运用英语能力的培养,力争人人都有进步;

  2、对学生因材实教,尊重学生个体差异,力争让不同学生全面发展;

  3、采用“任务型”活动教学,鼓励学生参与体验与交流,力争让学生增强对英语的学*兴趣;

  1、要面向全体学生,关注每个学生的情感,激发他们学*英语的兴趣,帮助他们建立学*的成就感和自信心,培养创新精神;

  2、整体设计目标,体现灵活开放,目标设计以学生技能,语言知识,情感态度,学*策略和文化意识的发展为基础;

  3、突出学生主体,尊重个体差异;

  4、采用345优质高效课堂,让学生在老师的指导下通过感知、体验、实践、小组合作等参与和方式,实现目标,感受成功;

  1.要求学生坚持每周三篇日记记述日常生活,每单元一篇与所学内容相仿的作文,并及时批阅让学生及时发现不足加以改进;

  2.每天背诵课文中的文章。要求学生背诵并默写,培养语感,掌握语法知识的应用技巧;利用“组长检查及教师重点抽查”的方法及时检查,表扬并肯定学*积极的学生以学*保证效果;

  3对后进生进行专门辅导,布置单独的作业。制定合适的学*评价方法,让他们树立学*的自信;

  5.培养学*兴趣,引导学生掌握正确的学*方法,提高学*效率;

  7.营造良好的课堂气氛,培养学生开口说英语的勇气和信心;

  8.引导学生实现语言的迁移,加强日常生活中英语口语的运用;

  1、要面向全体学生,关注每个学生的情感,激发他们学*英语的兴趣,帮助他们建立学*的成就感和自信心,培养创新精神;

Uint10 I’m going to be a basketball player、 Unit11 Could you please clean your room? Unit12 What’s the best radio station?

In some countries, teenagers have jobs while they are still students. Do you think this is a good idea? Support your opinion by using specific reasons and details.

In many countries it is common for teenagers to take part-time jobs while they are still in high school, while in other societies this is virtually unheard of. In the latter situation, students are expected to spend all of their time on their studies and consider schoolwork their "job". In my opinion, students benefit more from a more balanced lifestyle, which may include working at a part-time job. Therefore, I believe that it is a good idea for students to work while studying.

While it is true that a student’s most important goal must be to learn and to do well at his studies, it does not need to be the only goal. In fact, a life which consists of only study is not balanced and may cause the student to miss out on other valuable learning experiences. In addition to bringing more balance to a student’s life, part-time work can broaden his range of experience. He will have the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life and will be faced with a wider variety of problems to solve. Furthermore, work helps a student to develop greater independence, and earning his own pocket money can teach him how to handle his finances. Finally, a part-time job can help a student to develop a greater sense of responsibility, both for his own work and for that of the team he works with.

For all of these reasons, I firmly believe that most students would benefit from taking a part-time job while they are in high school. Of course, they must be careful not to let it take up too much of their time because study is still their primary responsibility. In sum, living a balanced life is the best way to be successful.

Faced with the question whether it is worthwhile to spend a year or two voluntee ??ring in western China, many college students would probably shake their heads, seeing it as a waste of valuable learning time. However, I will give an affirmative answer without hesitation, because this experience can apparently benefit us in many ways.

First, it is a great opportunity for us to ap*** the knowledge we have acquired at college. Different from temporary part-time jobs, a longer volunteer work experience is truly fulfilling and rewarding. As English majors, we can learn to use and teach the language effectively in real classes; as education majors, we can experiment with those textbook theories in helping manage a school or instruct the younger; those who study engineering can take this chance to turn their ideas and skills into running machines, new bridges and broad roads. From this experience, we will better understand our schoolwork and even build up considerable expertise in our chosen fields.

Second, we can gain a great sense of satisfaction by making contributions in an underdeveloped region. Right now, the western China is suffering from both the short ??age of resources and that of talents in its course of development. If we can step into the needed roles by sim*** sacrificing a year or two, we will be able to make some differ??ence to the situation as a whole. Imagine how proud you will be when telling your fami??ly and friends how you have taught the illiterate to read, and how you have helped to change the look of a backward town. Compared with the great sense of pride you feel, a year‘s time is just a small price to pay.

Third,we can establish a deep friendship with local people. On the one hand, if you truly love and help the people you work with, they naturally love and help you back. Take a senior I know for example, who served two months as a teacher in a dry northwestern town. During the period of water shortage, both his students and their parents voluntarily kept water for him, sometimes despite their own need. Recalling his days there, he said they were not easy but he could not help missing them. Probably many volunteers would feel the same as him. While we are giving care, support and help, we often get back more including a lasting friendship.

Therefore,I will readily sign up to volunteer in the western China despite various challenges I may meet. Think of the differences we can make there and the changes this experience can make to us, why not walk out of the ivory tower and step onto the promising land of our country?

Most of us can learn how to do something simple on our own with just a set of instructions. However, to learn about something more complex, it’s always best to have a teacher.

Teachers bring with them varied and useful backgrounds. They’ve been trained to teach individuals in different ways depending on their style. For instance, omen students learn better by discussing a topic. Others learn more by writing about it. Teachers can help students learn in the way that’s best of each student. A textbook or a manual can only give you one way of learning something. Plus they’re only as helpful as your ability to understand them. A good teacher can adapt her teaching to your needs.

Teachers help you focus on what you’re learning. If you’re learning something by yourself, it’s easy to become distracted, and go on to other activities. Teachers keep your attention on the subject. They also approach a subject logically, taking it one step at a time. On your own, it’s tempting to skip parts of the learning process you think you don’t need. That can binder your ability to really understand the subject.

Learning a subject on your own is a very narrow way of learning. You can only use the information you get from the textbook. With a teacher, you get the information in the written materials as well as the teacher’s own knowledge of the topic. Teachers can also provide extra materials to broaden the scope of what you’re learning.

There’s nothing wrong with studying on your own, and a learner can always benefit from some quiet study. For the best possible learning, though, a good teacher is the biggest help you can have.

Children should begin their formal schooling at an early age ?

People have different views on what children should do at a very early age. some think that children should begin their formal education and start to spend most of their time on studies. others believe that it is still time for young children to play. both views are based on respective ground.

Those who argue for the playing time for childern suggest that children at a very early age are still too young to focus their attention on learning. their brain may not be ready for serious studies such as comprehension and memorizing learning materials. these people are partially right, for it is true that young childern can hardly concentrate. their attention on one thing lasts for no longer than 15 minutes or so. but we can arrange classes for shorter periods, can’t we? and we can shift teaching subjects. through putting them to study, young children are occupied with learnging but not with playing.

Those who argue for chilldren’s earyly commencement for formal education believe that being put to studies, children can develop good habit of studying, for the process of learning helps develop children’s mental abilities like the ability to memorize, the ability to understand and the ability to do simple calculation. children’s habit of studying and love for learning are of great importance to youngsters because these two things set up the sound foundation for their future studies.

Having children start formal education at a very early age benefits young childern much more than sim*** letting them play most of their time. a good habits needs a long time to develop to become a second nature. more importantly, it is better to develop a good habit before a bad one may grow. similarly, the love for learning should take toots for before the love for playing is established.

Ambition is the decision one makes and the resolution with which he carries out that decision. It provides us with the required driving force to accomplish any undertakings in our life. Just as Joseph Epstein, a famous American writer put it,“And as we decide and choose, so are our lives formed.” Indeed, once we make up our minds to choose to do something, then our life becomes meaningful and specifically orientated. This notion of life, as far as I observe, is closest to truth and does ap*** to almost all aspects of life. First things first, ambition renders us a sense of mission.

No matter what decision you make you have to be responsible for your choice. Your choice procures you a sense of orientation, or more specially a sense of mission. And only a strong mission may enable one to accomplish greatness. Caesar of the ancient Roman Empire was urged by his ambition “I came, I saw, I conquered.” And became an unrivaled empire builder in the history of Rome. John Milton, stimulated always by his ambition that aimed at writing some “mighty lines” which England would unwillingly forget, had in due time secured his position as the second Shakespeare in the history of English literature. In the second place, ambition can bring one’s potentials to the full. Ambition may well serve as a catalyst activating one’s dormant potentials. Without ambition one’s potentials will remain slumbering like a dormant volcano.

A case in point is Ms Zhang Haidi, a Chinese Helen Keller. It was her ambition to be a useful person has turned the almost paralyzed Zhang Haidi into a well-accomplished figure whose achievements would dwarf those of some normal people aim at the sun, though, at worst, they may probably land on the moon. Influential as it is upon us, however, ambition must be channeled in the right direction. If wrongly directed, one’s ambition may bring havoc on him and others. Hitler, whose ambition was to conquer Europe by whatever evil means, finally turned him into a demon. It was this demon that almost cast Europe into an unfathomable abyss of anguish and suffering. Another case is Macbeth whose ambition was to become the king of Scotland. However, his ambition was materialized by the murder of King Duncan. Consequently, unbearable guilt and psychological agony drove him to his tragic doom.

To sum up, ambition can benefit us tremendously if wisely and correctly channeled, otherwise it may ruin others and ourselves. A poet says: life can be bad; life can be good; life can be dirty; life can be sad,; life can even be painful. In my mind’s eye, a person can make his life beautiful, meaningful and rewarding and stand out as a respectable personage if he is motivated by a well-orientated ambition.
