Beauty usually refers to what appeals to the eye. A nice and well built girl is regarded as beautiful. A bunch of vigorous flowers are also considered as beautiful. A splendid waterfall ing down from a mountain is as well looked on as beautiful.
Beauty also refers to what appeals to the mind. The virtue of the Chinese nation-industry and bravery are taken as beautiful， because it helped to produce such a magnificent culture in the world. Einsteins theory of relativity is also perceived as beautiful， for it explains many natural phenomena so perfectly.
Beauty is around us. If you keep an eye or pay some attention， it is never difficult to find something beautiful somewhere about you. Wonderful natural spots， historical relics，fine arts， splendid buildings， and kind people are just a few inches away.

Like a child endlessly asking, we humans, throughout history, have been continually demanding what we desire from nature. We enjoy the comfort and beauty of our furniture, yet we never bother to think about the serious soil erosion caused by deforestation. We take it for granted that we must warm ourselves in winter times, yet we seldom realize the burning away of precious natural resources. We appreciate all the prosperity from the development of modern industry, yet few would give the slightest consideration to the global air and water pollution caused by industrial wastes. Our ruthless exploitation has permanently impaired our mother earth. As we tragically learned from last summer's floods. we cannot continue our carelessness.
Finally, standing here at the threshold of the 21st century, we cannot help thinking of our posterity. Nature is not only the mother of the present generation, but also the mother of the generations to come. How severely our descendents will criticize us if we leave them a barren and lifeless mother? How much more they will appreciate us if we give them a world of harmony to inherit? Let us start respecting and caring for nature from now on. Let us start the campaign of creating a mutually beneficial relationship between people and nature right from this moment. With this new start, I firmly believe, that our children, and our children's children will live in a brand new age of green trees, clean air, crystal water, blue sky and an even more promising world!

诸葛亮少年时代，从学于水镜先生司马徽，诸葛亮学*刻苦，勤于用脑，不但司马徽赏识，连司马徽的妻子对他也很器重，喜欢这个勤奋好学，善于用脑子的少年。那时，还没有钟表，记时用日晷，遇到阴雨天没有太阳。时间就不好掌握了。为了记时，司马徽训练公鸡按时鸣叫，办法就是定时喂食。为了学到更多的东西，诸葛亮想让先生把讲课的时间延长一些，但先生总是以鸡鸣叫为准，于是诸葛亮想：若把公鸡鸣叫的时间延长，先生讲课的时间也就延长了。于是他上学时就带些粮食装在口袋里，估计鸡快叫的时候，就喂它一点粮食，鸡一吃饱就不叫了。
过了一些时候，司马先生感到奇怪，为什么鸡不按时叫了呢？经过细心观察，发现诸葛亮在鸡快叫时给鸡喂食。先生开始很恼怒，但不久还是被诸葛亮的好学精神所感动，对他更关心，更器重，对他的教育也就更毫无保留了。而诸葛亮也就更勤奋了。通过诸葛亮自己的努力，他终于成为了一个上知天文，下识地理的一代饱学之人。

6(1)班的邓黎杰同学提醒同学们：多关注时事新闻和社会动态。最*发生的印度洋海啸事件震惊世界，我猜测语文的考试会于这一事件有关，有时间多了解些新闻我想是有益无害的。
5(1)班的龙翔同学给自己定了一个时间表，贴在自己的房门上，这样一进屋就知道自己在这个时间里应该做什么。但他提醒大家，必须按时间表写的来做，否则时间表就没什么用了。他还常把自己复*的想法告诉家长，请家长给自己出题，他说和自己的父母一起复*，有亲切感，会复*得更好。
5(1)班的彭明晰同学提醒大家：主科复*完了，可不要忘记其他科目。不管哪一门学科的考试都很重要。复*美术要多画多看，复*音乐要多唱多听，复*体育要多跑多跳。只有复*好每一门学科，才能成为全面发展的好学生。
5(1)班的庞彬同学和大家分享的方法是：认真听复*课。他说，复*期间，老师讲的内容都是一个学期的精华，不管我们怎么复*，最主要的还是要提高复*的听课效率，吸收知识的精华。6(2)班的黄璐同学的口号是：向三十五分钟要质量!在复*课的三十五分钟里，要控制自己，保证听课率达到100%。
2(1)班的秦颀同学，上学期考了语数双百分。他的考试经验是：答题之后的检查很关键。考语文时，他检查了7遍，找出了3个错误。考数学时，他检查验算了3遍，看到答案完全相同，才放心交卷。

Beggars Today
Beggars are one of the most familiar groups in every city. They accompany us from our childhood until now, and Ive found both the beggars and I change in this journey.
Years ago as a little girl, when I came across some old and disabled beggars on the road, Id donate some pocket money to them, happily thinking I was helping.
s I have grown older, Ive found the number of beggars has grown larger and they are more diverse. They appear in every corner of the city, on the overbridge, on the street, near restaurants, and even at your door. In contrast with the old days, it seems like the situation with beggars today is more complicated, which has made me hesitate before deciding whether to help them or not.
Its hard for me to give them money considering some who appear beggars in day time but dress up and go to fancy restaurants at night; and some who are controlled by some illegal organization and the money they get all goes to the organization. If I help them, Id be making the problem worse, Id be doing harm to the society, indirectly. But its also hard not to give them money, considering therere real beggars who really need help. If I dont help them, who will? And where is my sympathy?
What hurts me the most is not how hard it is to distinguish the real help-seekers from the many false ones, but that some children are forced by adults, sometimes even their parents, to beg. They grow up despised by the world, out of mainstream society. When I see their eyes filled with desperation and impudence instead of purity and innocence, my heart sinks. We dont know how they will face the world when they grow up, how this will shape their characters, and what they may do to the society, to perpetuate this cycle of violence.
Months ago the Fu Jian government has promulgated a new policy to deal with 8 kinds of beggars. An internet survey shows that over 80% of voters reacted positively toward the policy. We know that one single policy cannot solve a problem as complex as this one, but we do look forward to some improvement. I wish all humanity can live like human.
Learn How to Say No
We've all been taught that we should help people. It is the right thing to do and will make us popular with others. It may even win us favors in return. However, we must be realistic. We can't say yes to every request. If we did, we would fail or go crazy for sure. Sometimes we sim*** don't have the time to help. In this case, we must know how to say no politely.

This years four hundredth anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare is not just an opportunity to commemorate one of the greatest playwrights of all time. It is a moment to celebrate the extraordinary ongoing influence of a man who – to borrow from his own description of Julius Caesar – "doth bestride the narrow world like a Colossus."
Shakespeares legacy is without parallel: his works translated into over 100 languages and studied by half the worlds schoolchildren. As one of his contemporaries, Ben Jonson, said: "Shakespeare is not of an age, but for all time." He lives today in our language, our culture and society – and through his enduring influence on education.
Shakespeare played a critical role in shaping modern English and helping to make it the worlds language. The first major dictionary compiled by Samuel Johnson drew on Shakespeare more than any other writer. Three thousand new words and phrases all first appeared in print in Shakespeares plays. I remember from my own childhood how many of them are found for the first time in Henry V. Words like dishearten, divest, addiction, motionless, leapfrog – and phrases like "once more unto the breach", "band of brothers" and "heart of gold" – have all passed into our language today with no need to reference their original context. Shakespeare also pioneered innovative use of grammatical form and structure – including verse without rhymes, superlatives and the connecting of existing words to make new words, like bloodstained – while the pre-eminence of his plays also did much to standardise spelling and grammar.
But Shakespeares influence is felt far beyond our language. His words, his plots and his characters continue to inspire much of our culture and wider society. Nelson Mandela, while a prisoner on Robben Island, cherished a quote from Julius Caesar which said "Cowards die many times before their death, the valiant never taste of death but once." While Kate Tempests poem "My Shakespeare" captures the eternal presence of Shakespeare when she wrote that Shakespeare "…is in every lover who ever stood alone beneath a window…every jealous whispered word and every ghost that will not rest." But perhaps one of the most exciting legacies of Shakespeare is his capacity to educate. As we see from the outreach work of the Royal Shakespeare Company and Shakespeares Globe and the impact of pioneering British charities like the Shakespeare Schools Festival, studying and performing Shakespeare can help improve literacy, confidence and wider educational attainment.
Every day throughout 2016, Britain is inviting you to join us in celebrating the life and legacy of William Shakespeare. Why is Thanksgiving such an important day?
The tradition started with the Pilgrims, the founders of America.
The Pilgrims left Great Britain in 1620. They wanted to start a new life in America . One hundred men, women and children left Britain on a small ship called
the Mayflower. They arrived on the north-east coast of North America in December 1620 and founded Plymouth.
It was winter and they had no homes and little food.
They built small homes, But it was too late to cultivate crops.
The winter was very cold and harsh. Their living conditions were very bad. The friendly Wampanoag Indians helped them during the long winter.In the spring the Pilgrims met an Indian called Squanto. He explained how to grow corn, hunt and live in the wilderness. Soon the Pilgrims and the Indians became good friends.
The Pilgrims worked hard . By November 1621 everyone had food and a home. There was hope for the future. The Pilgrim leader, decided to celebrate with a dinner for the Pilgrims and the Indians. He wanted to give thanks to God.
This was the first Thanksgiving dinner and it lasted for three days.
Today the traditional Thanksgiving meal is similar to the first.
People eatroast turkey, sweet potatoes, corn, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie.

A lot of plastic bags always float on it .In summmer we have to go far awayfrom the village to swim.
What causes this? Who is the devil?It’s the human ourselves. I have got toknown from a book .The rubbish in the countryside mostly occupies the fields anddamages the earth’s surface .It pollutes soil,wave ,atmosphere and damages ourhealth. The adults often say “The body is capital.” But why are they able tomake woollen cloth like this ? Does it affect everybody’s safe and sound life?
Schoolmates, we are the host of society tomorrow . It’s our duty to improveand build the safe invironment.
Safety is in our hands .We must take park in more environmental protectionactivities, Plant more trees and flowers to make us live in a beautiful homewith the blue sky ,blue water and green land forever.

But he rode so fast that he knocked an old lady down carelessly.Instead of stopping，he pretended not to see this and rode away quickly. We were all very angry with the young man. To our happiness，a girl in plain dress ran forward at once，helped the lady up and took her home. We all praised the girl.

so now i'd like to share with you what's in my suitcase today. guess what? books. i have a suitcase full of books. here's margaret atwood, “cat's eye.“ here's a novel by milan kundera. and here's “the guide for the perplexed“ by maimonides. but these are not exactly my books. i brought these books with me because they were written by my grandfather's favorite authors.
my grandfather was a rabbi and he was a widower who lived alone in a small apartment in brooklyn that was my favorite place in the world when i was growing up, partly because it was filled with his very gentle, very courtly presence and partly because it was filled with books. i mean literally every table, every chair in this apartment had yielded its original function to now serve as a surface for swaying stacks of books. just like the rest of my family, my grandfather's favorite thing to do in the whole world was to read.
but he also loved his congregation, and you could feel this love in the sermons that he gave every week for the 62 years that he was a rabbi. he would takes the fruits of each week's reading and he would weave these intricate tapestries of ancient and humanist thought. and people would come from all over to hear him speak.
