Beauty usually refers to what appeals to the eye. A nice and well built girl is regarded as beautiful. A bunch of vigorous flowers are also considered as beautiful. A splendid waterfall ing down from a mountain is as well looked on as beautiful.
Beauty also refers to what appeals to the mind. The virtue of the Chinese nation-industry and bravery are taken as beautiful， because it helped to produce such a magnificent culture in the world. Einsteins theory of relativity is also perceived as beautiful， for it explains many natural phenomena so perfectly.
Beauty is around us. If you keep an eye or pay some attention， it is never difficult to find something beautiful somewhere about you. Wonderful natural spots， historical relics，fine arts， splendid buildings， and kind people are just a few inches away.

Years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul . Worry , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust .
Whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being ?s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what?s next and the joy of the game of living . In the center of your heart and my heart there?s a wireless station : so long as it receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long as you are young .
When the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you may die young at 80.

I received a devastating blow to my self'confidence in the first interview of my college years. I applied to be a host in our Student Acting Troupe and felt confident that I would be accepted. I used bigger heels to complement my height and psychological maneuvers and tricks to hide my lack of confidence. But no matter how hard I tried to look the part, there was still something missing. 有的人说青春是绚烂多彩的花季，是阴晦而缠绵的雨季，是青翠嫩绿融融的春，是浪漫而炽热的夏，有的人说青春是欢笑时泪水，是流泪时的微笑，是轻松的压抑，是沉重的放纵，还有的人说青春是一坛醇香的酒，是一束鲜艳的话…………每个人对青春都有自己的诠释，每个人都有每个人的答案。正是为了尊长这种自迥异的答案与诠释，人们才匆匆走上一条条属于自己的道路，去探寻属于自己的谜底，破译青春的密码。
青春惊得起磨练却经不起消磨，经得起开发却经不起挥霍。保尔·柯察金曾经说过：“人最宝贵的是生命，生命对于每过忍耐只有一次，人的一生应当这样度过”，当他回首往事的时候，他不会因为虚度年华的悔恨，也不会因为碌碌无为而羞愧，当他临死的时候，他能够说：：“我的整个生命和全部精力，都已经献给了世界上的最伟大的事业—人类的**而斗争”。所以我们应该珍惜青春，乘着自己还年轻，尽自己所能，在青春的舞台上展现自己亮丽而独特的风采，让青春飞扬！就像无数的星星在生活的星空中发出自己耀眼的光芒。
大家好！我演讲的题目是《流泪不如流汗》。
流泪和流汗虽然都是生理现象，但是只要你仔细去分析，它们又是不同的。
当我们遇到困难，或是遭遇挫折时，有的人总是一把鼻涕一把眼泪地哭，有时甚至哭上半天，丝毫不知自己为何要流泪。记得有一次我有几道数学题不会，得不到解答，于是就哭了。这时爸爸走过来说：“柔吟，你不能因为几道数学题而哭。知道吗？流泪不如流汗，如果你肯花点时间去思考，下工夫去研究，就对你很有帮助了，多流一些汗，总比流泪要值得。”
我听了，马上擦干眼泪，再坐回去，仔细地分析题目中的每一个字，尽管汗珠一滴滴地流下来，我也不去擦拭，因为我知道了“流泪不如流汗”的道理。
在稻田里，经常可以看到那拿着锄头，‘旧出而作，日落而息的勤劳的农夫们，正一次又一次用锄头翻松泥土。看，汗水正从他们的额头流下，从他们的脸颊滑过，但他们不在乎，还是继续劳作。他们花力气流血汗，最后总会有收获。所谓“一分耕耘，一分收获”就是这个道理，可以说收获是流汗换来的。
一滴泪水和一滴汗水是不同的，流泪的人到最后还是一无所获，但是流汗的人羚力地工作，最后毕竟可以尝到成功的果实。
“流泪不如流汗”，我们别再浪费这宝贵的时间，想想：当你滴下择珠时，成功的果实已在萌芽，收获已在眼前了。同学们，多下点儿功夫，多流点儿汗，开创自己的一番大事业吧！

世界上有许多人在追寻幸福，可寻找到幸福的人却寥寥无几，这是因为他们忘了两个最重要的问题：第一，幸福是什么？第二，幸福在哪里现在，我有这样一个故事。
一个20出头的年轻小伙子急匆匆地走在路上，对路边的景色与过往行人全然不顾。一个人拦住了他，问：小伙子，你为何这样行色匆匆啊小伙头也不回，飞快地向前跑着，只泛泛地甩了一句话：别拦我，我在寻求幸福。转眼20年过去了，小伙子已变成了中年人，他依然在路上疾驰。又一个人拦住他问：喂，伙计，你在忙什么呀中年人不耐烦的说：别拦我，我在寻求幸福。又是20年过去了，这个中年人已成了一个面色憔悴，老眼昏花的老头，还在路上挣扎着向前挪。一个人拦住他：老头子，还在寻找你的幸福吗？是啊。老头无力的说道。当老头回答完别人的问话，猛地一惊醒，一行眼泪掉了下来。原来刚才问他问题的那个人，就是幸福之神啊，他寻找了一辈子，可幸福之神实际上就在他旁边。
有谁来说说这则故事阐述了一个什么样的道理？是的，其实每一个人都可以寻找到幸福，只需不要给自己制定一个虚无缥缈的终极目标，这样你就可以感觉到幸福与快乐其实就在你手头上的每一件小事里，幸福其实就在你的身边！

父母在养育我们的时候，总是会给我们感动的事例。暮然间，我们发现，父母老了，已经有了一小片白发，已经有了一条条皱纹。很多感动我的事情，在我的记忆中，还是有一件事情刻骨铭心。
那一次，妈妈的同学来到了这里，因为太久太久没有见，两个人在一起说了好久。之后，阿姨要求带着我们去吃饭，因为爸爸出差了，所以阿姨二话没说就带着我们来到了饭店。看了看饭店的名字，我不由得大吃一惊——蓝海饭店!
阿姨说：“我们下一次见面，还不知道是什么时候，就这一次，表达表达我的心意吧。”说着，把我和妈妈推进了去。妈妈知道无论怎么说，都是不可能的了，于是就无奈的跟着带着我们的阿姨来到了吃自助餐的地方。阿姨硬是没有让妈妈付款。她自己为我们画上了钱。
我们每一个人都有一张卡片。拥有卡片就可以另一份鲍鱼捞饭或者是木瓜银耳。妈妈因为经常迫不得已地跟着单位来的.客人来到这里，所以说：“鲍鱼捞饭其实就是鲍鱼汁。”
但是到了那里之后，看到叔叔给前面的人夹进去一块米饭，一小块青菜，一些白色的片和鲍鱼汁的时候，妈妈问：“这些白色的东西是什么呢?”
“鲍鱼片。”那个叔叔干脆利索地回答。
于是，我要了一份鲍鱼捞饭，但是我尝着这滋味，似乎像是鱿鱼片。于是，我就称为鱿鱼片了。但是最后一片，我说什么也给了妈妈，妈妈轻轻咬了一口，我顺口说：“这鱿鱼片还挺好吃。”没想到一石激起千层浪——妈妈立刻问：“好吃?”然后把“鱿鱼片”硬是塞到了我的嘴里，说道：“好吃你就吃吧。”然后又急急忙忙打开了钱包，把没有使用过的、攒起来的票拿出来，问：“我这儿还有票，用不用我再去给你拿一份来?”我摇了摇头。
这一个细小的举动深深地烙在了我的心里。我感觉，这一个小小的举动能够看得出妈妈对我们深深的爱意，就在那一举一动间。有时候，也许是在夜里帮助我们盖上被子，也许是在我们口干舌燥的时候偷偷放到窗前的一杯水，爱，就是在那一举一动之间。于是，我决定感恩妈妈。
在一个周末里，我买了一块里面卷着奶油的面包，然后那里面的奶油统统掏出来抹在外面，然后又洗了一些葡萄干洒在了上面，用来感谢我的母亲。

时间飞一般的往前跑，想想小时候还赖在爸爸妈妈的床上睡觉的我，已经要在自己的床上睡觉了;想想小时候还伸着小手要爸爸妈妈帮忙穿衣服的我，已经要自己穿衣服了;想想小时候和妈妈一起洗澡迷了眼睛，还哇哇大哭的我，已经要自己洗头洗澡了;想想小时候连打一篇日记都要妈妈在旁边说一句，打一句的我，已经要独立完成自己的作业了。刚被爸爸妈妈严格要求独立的我，总是在被窝里偷偷的哭，说爸爸妈妈不爱我，可是爱的'暗流，却总是被我接到，没有一个人能抢到……
一年级的时候，为了丰富我的课外知识，妈妈给我买了一大堆课外书，可是那时的我还没有养成自己看书的爱好，对一大堆书置之不理，不过妈妈怎么督促我，我都只是拿书摆摆样子，在上面画画，妈妈没有办法，不知道怎么办才好。有一天妈妈正在看家庭教育，这时我对妈妈说，给我读读吧!我的这一句话启发了妈妈，妈妈开始每天晚上都给我读一个故事，让我开始对书着迷，渐渐养成了读书的*惯。
二年级的时候，我体质太弱，老是发烧，妈妈和爸爸寸步不离的照顾我，有时候晚上都没睡觉。那个时候有一种很严重的流感，在那个时期我正好发烧的很厉害，老师怕我得了那种流感再传染给同学，就给在家照顾我的妈妈打了个电话，让我休息两天，观察观察，吓得爸爸妈妈立即带我去了医院，检查结果出来了，我没有什么大病，只是普通的发烧而已，这才让爸爸妈妈松了口气。
三年级的时候，我开始偏科，数学成绩不好，爸爸很着急，他和妈妈斟酌一下给我报了一个奥数班，让我每个星期天去学*，每天晚上还给我检查数学作业，给我讲解我不会的数学题，考完试，试卷发下来，他和我一起分析错误的原因并让我改正。功夫不负有心人，我的数学成绩总算追了上去。
四年级的时候，我*视了，爸爸妈妈每天晚上都带我去看医生，看眼镜，最后决定给我配上了眼睛，从此，爸爸不让我再看书，为了满足我的求知欲，妈妈给我下载了很多故事让我听，并且让我多做眼保健操，多往远处眺望，与自己心爱的书分别了，我只能多保护和休息眼睛，希望能有所好转。

感恩是一种生活态度，是一种美德，是一片片肺腑之言。如果人与人之间缺少感恩之心，必然导致人际关系冷淡，所以我们要学会感恩。
感恩节是美国人民感谢上帝的日子，因为宗教上说幸福生活是上帝的恩赐，所以要感谢上帝，其意义就是感谢上帝和所有帮助过你的人。感恩节快要到了，我们也要感激所有曾帮助过我们的家长、老师、同学们。
但是我从网上了解到，我们小学生懂得感恩的并不多。因为现代的孩子都是家庭的中心，他们心中只知爱自己，不知道关爱别人。不少学生不但不体谅父母的辛劳，反而无休止索取，买吃的，买穿的，进网吧在他们眼中，向父母要钱天经地义。大学生中，也有许多学生从父母那里要钱，但给家里写信问候的学生不到十分之一。看到这，我的心久久不能*静。我们不应该这样做，应该时时刻刻为别人着想，父母给你东西时应该说声“谢谢”，应该为父母做一些家务，更应该好好学*，以报答老师的'养育之恩。

11年前有个人资助了178名贫困孩子，如今他已家财散尽，身患癌症。当他躺在床上，依然受到了“你不是说要将我的孩子供到大学毕业吗？他现在还在读初中，你就不肯出钱了，你这不是坑人吗？”这样毫无一丝感恩之心的催款电话，真令人心寒。看到这，我感受到当今社会懂得感恩的人太少了。这个人资助了178个贫困孩子读完了小学，肯定花了很多很多钱。俗话说“滴水之恩当涌泉相报”，这些家长应该到医院照顾他才对呀！而这些家长不但不感谢，还让这个面临死亡人继续资助他们的孩子。感恩是每个公民都应该有的基本道德准则，是做人最起码的修养，他们怎么能这么做呢？他们的良心呢？

这两天云南、贵州等西南地区的大旱引起了全国人民的关注，农作物绝收，百姓吃水艰难让人触目惊心!尤其是云南，那曾经是风景秀丽、雨水充沛的地方啊!
我就西南的旱灾原因发表三点意见：
第一、全球温室效应加剧，造成气候异常现象增多。
第二、西南地区发生的旱灾主要是由于人为的乱砍乱伐、种植有害植物、破坏原始植被从而造成地表水汽循环严重紊乱，最终造成该地区降雨量逐年减少。
第三、对河流水资源的无序开发，例如云南中小型的水电站立项建设混乱，对当地水资源等生态环境的破坏非常严重。
基于上面三点原因，最终西南地区出现今天的灾难性局面。
所以我要说：爱护环境、保护生态、呵护植被，人人有责!节能减排、杜绝浪费从我做起!

鲁迅先生从小认真学*。少年时，在江南水师学堂读书，第一学期成绩优异，学校奖给他一枚金质奖章。他立即拿到南京鼓楼街头卖掉，然后买了几本书，又买了一串红辣椒。每当晚上寒冷时，夜读难耐，他便摘下一颗辣椒，放在嘴里嚼着，直辣得额头冒汗。他就用这种办法驱寒坚持读书。由于苦读书，后来终于成为我国的文学家。
诸葛亮少年时代，从学于水镜先生司马徽，诸葛亮学*刻苦，勤于用脑，不但司马徽赏识，连司马徽的妻子对他也很器重，喜欢这个勤奋好学，善于用脑子的少年。那时，还没有钟表，记时用日晷，遇到阴雨天没有太阳。时间就不好掌握了。为了记时，司马徽训练公鸡按时鸣叫，办法就是定时喂食。为了学到更多的东西，诸葛亮想让先生把讲课的时间延长一些，但先生总是以鸡鸣叫为准，于是诸葛亮想：若把公鸡鸣叫的时间延长，先生讲课的时间也就延长了。于是他上学时就带些粮食装在口袋里，估计鸡快叫的时候，就喂它一点粮食，鸡一吃饱就不叫了。
过了一些时候，司马先生感到奇怪，为什么鸡不按时叫了呢？经过细心观察，发现诸葛亮在鸡快叫时给鸡喂食。先生开始很恼怒，但不久还是被诸葛亮的好学精神所感动，对他更关心，更器重，对他的教育也就更毫无保留了。而诸葛亮也就更勤奋了。通过诸葛亮自己的努力，他终于成为了一个上知天文，下识地理的一代饱学之人。
听了这些故事，大家也是否应该想想，自己有没有勤奋刻苦地学*呢？每个人都想用最简便的方法取得异的成绩，可是在学*上是没有捷径可走的。要想取得优异的成绩，要想成功，就必须付出自己的汗水，勤奋地学*。
爱迪生有一句话说得好：天才就是百分之九十九的汗水加百分之一的灵感。韩愈也说过：业精于勤而荒于嬉，行成于思而毁于随。大家可以每天多问问自己：今天我尽力了吗？我勤奋认真地读书了吗？请大家谨记一句话：勤奋是通往成功的大道。

Although there are still many challenges waiting for me, these setbacks won’t hurt my confidence and will push me to study harder.

Many animals are in danger of dying out. As is shown in the chart, we can see the number of animal species decreases faster and faster and this trend will continue. From 1980 to 20, at least 1 million animal species have disappeared.
Worse still, more and more wild animals are in great danger. It is not a piece of sensational news; it is a fact, a harsh reality. Unfortunately, we may not see these animals in the near future.
From the second picture, we can find some reasons. Why is the number of animal species declining year by year? Apparently animals have become victims of fashion industry. Animal skin has been used to make fashionable clothes and these clothes sell at a high price. So some greedy people begin to kill animals in a large quantity.
This irresponsible behavior not only breaks the balance of nature but also endangers the living environment of human beings.

Our ruthless exploitation has permanently impaired our mother earth. As we tragically learned from last summer's floods. we cannot continue our carelessness.
Finally, standing here at the threshold of the 21st century, we cannot help thinking of our posterity. Nature is not only the mother of the present generation, but also the mother of the generations to come. How severely our descendents will criticize us if we leave them a barren and lifeless mother? How much more they will appreciate us if we give them a world of harmony to inherit? Let us start respecting and caring for nature from now on. Let us start the campaign of creating a mutually beneficial relationship between people and nature right from this moment.
