根据不同的阅读目的，可以采用不同的阅读方法，或称阅读技巧。一般来说，阅读方法有略读、寻读和细读三种。
“略读”又称“浏览”，是指跳过细节，跳过不重要的描述与例子，进行快速阅读以求抓住文章的大意和主题思想的方法。“寻读”是快速寻找某一特殊信息的阅读方法。它的目的非常明确，即找到所需要的信息。“细读”是在找到文章中的有关部分以后，在此范围内逐句阅读，特别要对关键词、句仔细琢磨，以便对其有比较深刻、准确的.理解。不仅要理解其字面意思，还要通过推理和判断，弄清文章中字里行间所隐含的意思。在细读的过程中，对没有学过的生词，可根据上下文的背景知识来推测其词义;对难以看懂的长句，可借助语法手段，对其加以分析，以达到正确理解的目的。
主要是了解挑错题的命题规律，把握常见错误类型分析。常见错误类型主要有用词错误和语法错误。
1.拿到题目，首先从语法角度考虑，因为语法考察要占70%以上;2.从语法着手不行之后，在从句意着手，透彻理解句子的意思;3.总是第一反应，因为第一反应往往来自于语感;4.容易的熟悉的题要一跳而过，难题也不要多花时间，先猜一个答案，(以免后来时间紧，忘记)，再在题目前做一个记号，等到检查时，再考虑。也许在做其它题目时，你会得到某种启示;5.掌握语法结构和规则，记住短语搭配，用熟悉的短语去推断正确的答案。
英语状语从句有很多种，可以表示时间、原因、条件、让步、目的等等。通过比较可以发现，英语中状语从句用在主句后面的较多，而汉语的状语从句用在主句前面的较多。了解了这些差异，就可以比较顺利地进行英汉翻译的转换。因此，在翻译过程中，多将状语从句放在主句前面。

词类转化法是指在翻译中，将原文中属于某种词性的词语在译文中翻译成属于另一种词性的词语的翻译方法。例如，将原文中的名词翻译成译文中的动词，将原文中的形容词翻译成译文中的副词等等。下面举例说明。
(1)将具备动词概念的名词转化成动词
有关细节的问题是以what，who，which，when，where，how，why等词引导的特殊疑问句，就文中某一个词语、某一句子、某一段落或某一细节或事实进行提问，要求考生回答。还有一种问法是填空式的。提问方式有以下几种：

2)In the passage.the author states that ________.
3)The writer mentions all of the items listed below except___________.
4)Which of the following statements is correct according to the passage?
"Over"和"above"这两个介词的意思是在…….上面。“我们可以说(1)The sky is above our heads,也可以说(2)The sky is over our heads.我们也可以说(3)He Spread his handkerchief over his face.但不能说*(4)He spread his handkerchief above his face. 同样的'，可以说(5)John has travelled all over the world以及 (6)The King reigns over a great empire，但是(5)和(6)里的 "over"却不可以"above"取代。
"Bring"和"take"的意思相同，但用法并不一样。
"Bring"指东西向说话的人的方向去，如：
Bring me the book, please.
"Take"指东西向说话的人离去，如：
1. 词汇考试题型中在第二部分：词语用法和语法结构(PartⅡVocabulary and Structure)(30%)，共30题，考试时间25分钟。题目中50%为词和短语的用法，50%为语法结构。词语用法和语法结构部分主要考核学生运用词汇、短语及语法结构的能力。
2. 要特别注意词汇和语法结构的'学*。大家应当意识到，词汇和语法的学*不能满足于词汇、短语、语法规则的量，最重要的是熟练掌握它们的用法。**本科学士学位统一考试的题型有易有难，其中词汇和语法结构分属比较容易的题型，考生不应该丢的分。
3. 第三题挑错(10%)，第四题完形填空(10%)与词汇是密不可分的。总体算来词汇占总卷面分值的50%.在强调词汇重要时我们不容忽视语法的重要性。
研究分析1996～2016年历年真题，将英语三级词汇分为：核心词汇和非核心词汇及超纲词汇。 核心词汇： 考试试题中出现频率较高的词和词汇考查重点、本身带有词组较多的词、多于其它此类搭配的词、有特殊用法的词，考生不熟悉的词。1000个词左右。
非核心词汇：中学阶段可能掌握的词，专有名词，简单词(意思单一，用法单一)。这些词除非在阅读理解中外，一般不会被设计成词汇试题。1000个词左右。
