i love you, china, for i can feel the deep love you give me every day, every minute. last year, i got an opportunity to visit the united states of america. during my staying there, my father’s boss once invited my family to dinner. while at table, he looked at me and asked: “little boy, how long have you been in america?” “about a month,” i answered, “how lucky you are!” he said, “if you were living in china, how could you learn such perfect english?” i smiled and told him proudly that all the students in china are able to learn english at school. i saw his surprised eyes and said to myself, “i’m proud of you, china. for you are offering us the best education.”
when i came back from the usa, my friends asked me: “how do you feel about your staying there?” “wonderful” i said. “then why do you come back?” hearing this, i told them there were lots of beautiful countries in the world, but none of them can compare with our own country—china. how true the saying is: “there’s no place like home!”

in the matter of courage we all have our limits. there never was a hero who did not have his bounds. i suppose it may be said of nelson and all the others whose courage has been advertised that there came times in their lives when their bravery knew it had come to its limit.
i have found mine a good many times. sometimes this was expected--often it was unexpected. i know a man who is not afraid to sleep with a rattle-snake, but you could not get him to sleep with a safety-razor.
i never had the courage to talk across a long, narrow room. i should be at the end of the room facing all the audience. if i attempt to talk across a room i find myself turning this way and that, and thus at alternate periods i have part of the audience behind me. you ought never to have any part of the audience behind you; you never can tell what they are going to do.

In this competitive society it is essential to know how to sell yourself in order to get the job you want. That means you must be able to market your best features and present yourself in the best light. After all, you never get a second chance to make a first impression.
There are several things you can do to project a good image in an interview. First of all, look like a winner. Dress conservatively and well, and you'll look like you're going to the top. It is a great honor and pleasure to be here on this beautiful Saturday morning to share with you my sentiments about life and passion for the English language.
About a year and a half ago, I took part in my very first English Speech Contest. When I stood before the microphone with all eyes starring directly at me, I could hardly speak. I stood there, embarrassed and helpless, struggling in vain for the right thing to say. My fears had paralyzed me.
While my passion for English has never changed, I lost my courage to speak in public. When my professor again encouraged me to take part in this Competition, I said “no.” I couldn’t endure yet another painful experience. He looked me straight in the eye and said something that pierced my heart. I will never forget his words. “Look,” he said, “We all have our fears, and you have yours. You could twist your ankle in a basketball game, but then be afraid to ever play again. Running away can never dispel your fears, but action will. A winner is not one who never fails，but one who never quits.”
I spent a whole day with his words twisting and turning in my mind. Then I made the bravest and wisest decision of my life: I would face my fears – and take part in the competition!
As it turned out, my dear old professor was right. Now, here I am, once again standing before a microphone. My heart is beating fast, and my mouth is dry, but most importantly, I have faced my fears -- and that makes all the difference!

There are many factors that can contribute to a person’s success in life. 过了一会儿，游客们来啦!我微笑地上了摄像机的镜头。咦?那些白色的漂浮物是什么?原来是刚才那位游客丢下的垃圾!几位游客经他一动员，也跟着丢了起来。就这样一个接一个，我开始厌倦人们再来这里，因为我再也不是那条人见人爱的湖了!
渐渐地，我的脸越来越脏，身上清香的气息也越来越淡，变成了一股恶臭，工作人员也不见了，恐怕是不想和我呆在一起吧!
我伤心的流着泪，对自己的卫生彻底绝望了，就在我失声痛哭之时，一位身穿环卫工人的服饰的老爷爷来了，他不怕脏，不怕累，慢慢地清理着，用网捞，捞不到多少，下手捡，也捡不了多少。可他不管效率多么低，可他仍在坚持，过了一会儿，我恢复了原来的面貌，那位老爷爷也会心的笑了。
望着他渐渐离开的背影，我多么想向全世界呼吁：人类呀!还我一个绿色的家园，不要再到处破坏了!

这一个世界上根本就没有移山之术，唯一的一个移动山的方法就是：山不过来，我便过去。同样的道理，人不能改变环境，那么我们就要改变自己。
一个黑人小孩在他父亲的葡萄酒厂看守橡木桶。每天早上，他用抹布将一个个木桶擦干净，然后一排排地整齐地放好。令他生气的是，往往一夜之间，风就把他排列整齐的木桶吹得东倒西歪。
小男孩很委屈地哭了。父亲摸着小男孩的头说：“孩子，不要哭，我们可以想办法去征服风。”
于是小男孩擦干了眼泪坐在木桶边想啊想，想了半天终于想出了一个办法，他从井边挑来一桶又一桶的清水，然后把它们倒进那些空空的橡木桶里，然后他就忐忑不安地回家睡觉了。第二天，天刚蒙蒙亮，小男孩就匆匆地爬了起来，他跑到放桶的地方一看，那些橡木桶一个一个排列得整整齐齐，没有一个被风吹倒的，也没有一个被风吹歪的。小男孩开心地笑了，他对父亲说：“要想木桶不被风吹倒，就要加重木桶的重量。”男孩的父亲赞许地微笑了。
是的，我们不能改变风，改变不了这个这个世界上的许多东西，但是我们可以改变自己，给自己加重，这样我们就可以适应变化，不被打败!
在威斯敏斯特教堂地下室里，英国圣公会主教的墓碑上写着这样一段话：当我年轻自由的时候，我的想象力没有任何局限，我梦想改变这个世界。当我渐渐成熟明智的时候，我发现这个世界是不可改变的，于是我将眼光放得短浅了一些，那就只改变我的国家吧!但是我的国家似乎也是我无法改变的。当我到了迟暮之年，抱着最后一丝努力的希望，我决定只改变我的家庭、我最亲*的人——但是，唉!他们根本不接受改变。现在我在临终之际，我才突然意识到：如果起初我只改变自己，接着我就可以依次改变我的家人。然后，在他们的激发和鼓励下，我也许能改变我的国家。再接下来，谁又知道呢，也许我连整个世界都可以改变。
人生如水，人只能去适应环境。如果不能改变环境，就改变自己，只有这样，才能克服更多的困难，战胜更多的挫折，实现自我。如果不能看到自己的缺点和不足，只是一味地埋怨环境不利，从而把改变境遇的希望寄托在改变环境上，这实在是徒劳无益。
虽然我们不能改变世界，但我们可以改变自己，让我们用爱心和智慧来面对一切环境。

早上好！
今天我讲话的题目是“想成功，就要坚持”。
首先我想与大家分享一个有趣的故事：记得有一次，大哲学家苏格拉底对学生说：“今天咱们只学一件最简单也是最容易做的事：每人把胳膊尽量往前甩。”说着，苏格拉底示范了一遍，“从今天开始，每天做300下，大家能做到吗？”学生们都笑了，这么简单的事，有什么做不到的！过了一个月，苏格拉底问学生们：“每天甩300下，哪些同学坚持了？”有90%的同学骄傲地举起了手。又过了一个月，苏格拉底又问，这回，坚持下来的学生只剩下八成。一年后，苏格拉底再一次问大家：“请告诉我，最简单的甩手运动，还有哪几位同学坚持了？”这时，整个教室里，只有一人举起了手。这个学生就是后来成为古希腊另一位大哲学家的柏拉图。这个小故事所蕴含的深刻含意是显而易见的。
法国伟大的启蒙思想家布封曾经说过：“天才就是长期的坚持不懈。”我国著名的数学家华罗庚也曾说：“做学问，做研究工作，必须持之以恒。”的确，我们干什么事，要取得成功，坚持不懈的努力和持之以恒的精神都是必不可少的。古今中外，有多少这样的例子，巴尔扎克用如痴如狂的拼劲，每天奋笔疾书十六七个小时，即使累得手臂疼痛，双眼流泪，也不肯浪费一刻时间。这就是他能够完成一部部巨作的原因。他给我们的启示又是什么呢我想，他给我们每个人注入了一股强大的精神力量，那就是明确目标，坚持不懈，终能成功！世间最容易的事是坚持，最难的事也是坚持。说它容易，是因为只要愿意做，人人能做到，说它难，是因为真正能做到的，终究只是少数人。
坚持是一种信念，坚持是一种修养，坚持是一种高尚的品质。
而如今我们有些同学为了眼前利益，不做长远的打算，竟在考试中作弊，这种不合xx高中校风的做法，不仅让学校、老师蒙羞，也失去了检测自己的机会，而失去这次机会，就相当于放弃了自己，最终一事无成。
成功和失败之间往往只有一步之遥，想成功，就要坚持。这是一个并不神秘的秘诀。但只坚持勤奋，却选错了方向，则令人可悲。“勤奋”不是只要存在就有价值，偏离了正确方向，方向错了，就是一列疾速列车脱了轨，你汗水也罢，泪水也罢，血水也罢，那个终点却是“可望”而“不可及”的了。如果把坚持勤奋美化成点金石，以为无论何种腐朽经过它的点化都会变成神奇，殊不知这就像把一块石头变成一匹锦缎，把一束丝线攻成美玉，也许力道、方法都恰当，却选错了对象。
当困难，绊住你成功脚步的时候；当失败，挫伤你进取雄心的时候；当负担，压得你喘不过气的时候，不要退缩，不要放弃，一定要坚持下去，因为只有坚持不懈，才能通向成功！

今天由我来为大家进行课前三分钟的演讲。我先问大家一个问题。
你喜欢自己吗？你对自己满意吗？你很羡慕某些人，甚至愿意自己也成为他吗？如果你对自己有疑惑，那么我来告诉你：就像每一片叶子都有它独特的形状，每一朵花儿都有它独特的香味，我们每一个人都是世上独一无二的个体，在这个世界上，没有两个人是完全一样的。
我们每一个人的存在，都有自己的价值与意义，别人可以比我好，也可以比我差，但没有人可以取代我。美国少年天使肯尼，一出生就因为身体畸形截掉双腿，后来又发现切口的根部被癌细胞侵入，只好把腰部以下的身体全部切除。但是，肯尼并没有向病魔低头，他在家人的帮助下向自己的生命挑战，拼命练*生存技能，使得自己日渐独立，能跟常人一样上学，甚至还学会了溜滑板、溜冰。肯尼的生命是美丽的、动人的。
有时候我们以为遭遇到的`危机使我们走投无路了，却在事后发现这是生命的转机。美丽的生命在于勇于更新，且愿意努力学*。化蛹为蝶，才能使生命焕然一新。人的一生也需要蜕变才能成长。每一次蜕变都会带你走进人生的新领域、新境界，使你获得新的感受、新的惊喜。
健康的我们，更要学会容忍自己的不足和缺点。俗话说人无完人。正因为这样，我们才要不断学*、不断提高自己。如何在正视不足和缺点的前提下，采取积极的行动来弥补不足、克服缺点呢？
一方面要正确和别人做比较，认识到自己在群体中处于什么样的位置，寻找以后努力的方向；
另一方面要正确认识自己。不要只从不同的方面*价自己，却看不到自己的优点，老觉得“某某的学*比我好，某某的书法比我好，某某的琴比我弹得好”，而实际上每个人身上都有自己的闪光点：学*好的可能体育不如你，书法好的可能学*不如你，不要一味给自己挑毛病。既能够看到闪光点，也能够看到不足之处，对自己的认识才会全面，才能更好的取长补短。
台湾作家琼瑶，小时候除了语文外，其他学科成绩并不好。有一次，数学考试她只考了20分，学校发给她一张“通知单”，要她拿回去给父母盖章。捱到深夜，她鼓足勇气拿着通知书交给母亲。母亲整个脸色都阴暗下去，将他好好责骂了一顿。她绝望的给母亲写了一封长信，服毒，幸亏抢救及时，才没有造成终身的遗憾。从死神手中逃回来的她，分析了自己的长处与短处，下决心取长补短，专心写作。父母默认了她的追求，她开始发挥自己写作方面的长处，真正追求自己的事业，最终取得了令人羡慕的成就。
所以我们要多鼓励自己：“成绩单不漂亮没关系，只要我努力，就是一名好学生！”“基础不好没关系，只要我每天都有进步，就是一种成功！”“我的生活是充满阳光的，努力的我最美丽！”这样自信的度过每一天，你会越来越体验到：
我的人生是非常有价值的，我是最棒的！

非常开心在这课前三分钟和大家分享我此次的演讲，今天我想要和大家讲的是青春。青春是我们每个人一生当中最珍贵也是最美好的一段回忆。而现在的我们正好站在青春的路口，或许我们会彷徨，或许我们会犹豫，但是请大家都不要怕，因为青春是值得推敲和历练的。请大家勇敢的迈出每一步，只为了不让下一秒的自己失望。
高二了，离高三又*了一步。以前我总是在想我们要什么时候才能走进哪一栋高三楼，没想到的是，我们离它真正的就只差那么一步了。可是看看现在的自己，好像还是那么幼稚，好像还是那么柔弱，但这是不要紧的，因为只要一直往前，过去的路就会成为我们今后的依靠，这段青春也才有了真正的意义。
上一个月的月考成绩出来了，大家也知道，我考的很差劲，尤其是在语文这门科目上，我败的一塌涂地。那时候我就在想自己这一个月究竟干什么去了，为什么要辜负时光呢？那的确是一件让我非常懊悔的事情，所以大家看，每一个阶段里你所做的事情都会有一个结果，这是我们无力改变的，或许后来的我们有可能会做出一些改进和进步，但是那个结果已经刻在了那一段时光里，无法更改，而这，也就是时光的'魅力了。
青春就像是一场考试，如若我们没有办法争取它，那么最后的结果或许也会是不衬心意。所以亲爱的同学们，请大家不要再迷惘了，珍惜青春的机会不多，短短一段时光，让我们好好去对待它吧。对于现在的我们来说，或许就是要去学会珍惜，学会把握好自己每一个学*的机会，在正确的时间里做正确的事情，这是对青春最直接的尊重。
这短短的三分钟，讲不尽青春的意义。我相信在每个同学的心里，其实青春已经有了一个定论。青春是我们自己的，我们可以去书写它，更改它，只要符合我们的内心，我相信它就是充满了价值和意义的。时光易逝，懂得珍惜，才是对青春最大的负责啊！

俗话说：“台上一分钟，台下十年功。”如果一个人很有成就，不是别人给予的，更不是从天上掉下来的。是靠自己的努力、勤奋争取的。才能主要来自勤奋学*是不可猜疑的。
一个人的才能不是天生就有的，而是靠自己的勤奋努力而来的。比如说德国数学家、物理学家和天文学家高斯。他从小就酷爱学*，一生为科学事业做出了巨大贡献，但是如果他没有从小的勤奋努力学*，他也不可能成为著名的科学巨人。没有勤奋努力的学*是不可能有成就的。这样的例子有很多很多，可以说每一位有成就的人都曾努力学*、努力探索过。
学*的关键在于“肯学”和“敢学”。如果你的愿望是成为一名有成就、有才能让人敬重的人物，但你又不肯，或不敢去学*最终还是会一事无成的。居里夫人和她的丈夫为了证明镭的存在，千辛万苦，冒着可能失去生命的危险，经过他们的勤奋、努力最终提炼出了十分之一克极纯净的氯化镭，并准确地测定了它的原子量，证实了镭的存在。这是一次多么让人惊叹的事实。正是居里夫人的肯做、敢做才证实了镭的存在。因此，要想成为有才能的人，就要从小“肯学”、“敢学”。
有些人说那些有才能、有成就的人从小就是“天才”、“神童”，像我们再努力有什么用啊。这种想法是错误的，他们是天才、神童，不是天生的，而是来自勤奋的学*。勤奋学*是成为“天才”、“神童”的先决条件。经科学家研究，人是智力是有差别的，但是仅仅是差一点点而已。所以说，“天才”、“神童”是靠人们勤奋学*而成为的。
才能来自勤奋学*，牛顿、爱因斯坦、爱迪生、郑板桥、白居易的事例都可以证明这一点。有许多的伟人为了造福人类，也作了巨大的贡献。如李时珍的著作《本草纲目》，他走访了许多地方，经过27个春秋的艰苦努力写成了这部巨作。
狄更斯说过“我所收获的，是我种下的。”每个人都有机会成为有才能的人，就看你去不去争取这个机会。才能来自勤奋。我们一定要努力学*。

保护环境，珍惜水资源——让大自然里依旧能听到水流动的声音。
一则公益广告我铭记心中：一个水龙头正艰难地往外滴着水，滴水的速度越来越慢，最后终于再也滴不出水来。随后，出现一只眼睛，眼中滴下一滴泪水——如果人类不珍惜水，那么，我们看到的最后一滴水，将会是我们的眼泪!在自然界中，有许多令人流连忘返的美景，那美丽静谧的湖泊、欢快活泼的小溪、奔腾不息的江河、汹涌澎湃的大海，无一不令人心驰神往,可是那湖波、小溪、江河、大海里流着的就是那水龙头里的水，如果水龙头中的水一滴也滴不出来了那湖波、小溪、江河、大海里还会有水吗?要不就已经干涸了，要不就是所剩无几了。
水是万物之源，是自然界不可缺少的物质。有了水，才有了令人向往的美景，才有了自然界无穷无尽的能量。*年来，电视节目中经常提到水资源短缺问题：黄河的许多河段已越来越浅，陕西的渭河已见断流，山西的汾河水也早已不再奔流，而淮河、太湖等的水污染警报更是频频传来。更令人心忧的是，一些地处西部偏远地区的小山村，缺水缺到过年才能分到五斤水的地步。就说我外婆家的小河里的水也比以前浅了许多许多，童年的往事想来有趣，令人发笑，它们就像一颗颗珍珠在眼前浮现，往年，在那小河里游泳，河水到我脖子里，可是现在游泳浅的地方到我大腿，深的到我肚子。
有了水，才构成这个蔚蓝的星球;有了水，整个世界才有了生命的气息;有了水，我们的世界才变得生机盎然;有了水，我们才有了秀美的山川、清澈的溪水、湛蓝的海洋……我们才有了一切。

早上好!
谦虚是一种美德，是一种难能可贵的品德。
自古以来，我国人民就有谦虚的美德，人们有许多这方面的格言警句启迪后人。如“谦受益，满招损”，“谦虚使人进步，骄傲使人落后”，“虚心竹有低头叶，傲骨梅无仰面花”，“百尺竿头，还要更进一步!”
事实上也是如此，没有一个人能够有骄傲的资本，因为任何一个人，即使他在某一方面的造诣很深，也不能够说他已经彻底精通，彻底研究全了。“生命有限，知识无穷”，任何一门学问都是无穷无尽的海洋，都是无边无际的天空……所以，谁也不能够认为自己已经达到了最高境界而停步不前、而趾高气扬。如果是那样的话，则必将很快被同行赶上、很快被后人超过。
爱因斯坦是二十世纪世界上最伟大的科学家之一，他的相对论以及他在物理学界的其它方面研究成果，留给我们的`是一笔取之不尽、用之不完的财富。然而，就是像他这样，他还是在有生之年中不断地在学*、研究，活到老，学到老。
有人去问爱因斯坦，说：“您老可谓是物理学界的空前绝后了，何必还要孜孜不倦地学*呢?何不舒舒服服地休息呢?”爱因斯坦并没有立即回答他这个问题。而是找来一支笔、一张纸，在纸上画上一个大圆和一个小圆，对那位年轻人说：“在目前情况下，在物理学这个领域里可能是我比你懂得略多一些。正如你所知的是这个小圆，我所知的是这个大圆，然而整个物理学知识是无边无际的。对于小圆，它的周长小，即与未知领域的接触面小，他感受到自己的未知少;而大圆与外界接触的这一周长大，所以更感到自己的未知东西多，会更加努力地去探索。”
我们每个人都要养成一个“虚怀若谷”的胸怀，都要有一种“谦虚谨慎、戒骄戒躁”的精神。用我们的有限的生命时间去探求更多的知识空间吧!

When I walked into the cover letter middle school auditorium along with the crowd, I saw the familiar faces -- my classmates. They each person's face is permeated with the sense of excitement, may be because the long-expected festival had finally arrived!
After long prologue in school, we began our festival finally!
First is in grade one students into the ceremony of the young pioneers. Such as the three senior classmates after the red flag up, began to swear. In the oath, the classmates all looked attentive, very serious. And then, under the leadership of the brigade of counselors, we sang young pioneers team song.

Whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being ‘s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the game of living . in the center of your heart and my heart there’s a wireless station : so long as it receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long as you are young .
When the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you may die young at 80.

About a year and a half ago, I took part in my very first English Speech Contest. When I stood before the microphone with all eyes starring directly at me, I could hardly speak. I stood there, embarrassed and helpless, struggling in vain for the right thing to say. My fears had paralyzed me.
While my passion for English has never changed, I lost my courage to speak in public. When my professor again encouraged me to take part in this Competition, I said “no.” I couldn’t endure yet another painful experience. He looked me straight in the eye and said something that pierced my heart. I will never forget his words. “Look,” he said, “We all have our fears, and you have yours. You could twist your ankle in a basketball game, but then be afraid to ever play again. Running away can never dispel your fears, but action will. A winner is not one who never fails，but one who never quits.”
I spent a whole day with his words twisting and turning in my mind. Then I made the bravest and wisest decision of my life: I would face my fears – and take part in the competition!
As it turned out, my dear old professor was right. Now, here I am, once again standing before a microphone. My heart is beating fast, and my mouth is dry, but most importantly, I have faced my fears -- and that makes all the difference!

I stand here today humbled by the task before us, grateful for the trust you have bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors. I thank President Bush for his service to our nation, as well as the generosity and cooperation he has shown throughout this transition.
Forty-four Americans have now taken the presidential oath. The words have been spoken during rising tides of prosperity and the still waters of peace. Yet, every so often the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms. At these moments, America has carried on not sim*** because of the skill or vision of those in high office, but because We the People have remained faithful to the ideals of our forbearers, and true to our founding documents.
So it has been. So it must be with this generation of Americans.
That we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood. Our nation is at war, against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred. Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age. Homes have been lost; jobs shed; businesses shuttered. Our healthcare is too costly; our schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet.
These are the indicators of crisis, subject to data and statistics. Less measurable but no less profound is a sapping of confidence across our land - a nagging fear that America's decline is inevitable, and that the next generation must lower its sights.
Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America - they will be met.
On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.
On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics.
We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things. The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free, and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness.
In reaffirming the greatness of our nation, we understand that greatness is never a given. It must be earned. Our journey has never been one of short-cuts or settling for less. It has not been the path for the faint-hearted - for those who prefer leisure over work, or seek only the pleasures of riches and fame. Rather, it has been the risk-takers, the doers, the makers of things - some celebrated but more often men and women obscure in their labour, who have carried us up the long, rugged path towards prosperity and freedom.
For us, they packed up their few worldly possessions and traveled across oceans in search of a new life.
For us, they toiled in sweatshops and settled the west; endured the lash of the whip and plowed the hard earth.
For us, they fought and died, in places like Concord and Gettysburg; Normandy and Khe Sahn.
Time and again these men and women struggled and sacrificed and worked till their hands were raw so that we might live a better life. They saw America as bigger than the sum of our individual ambitions; greater than all the differences of birth or wealth or faction.
This is the journey we continue today. We remain the most prosperous, powerful nation on Earth. Our workers are no less productive than when this crisis began. Our minds are no less inventive, our goods and services no less needed than they were last week or last month or last year. Our capacity remains undiminished. But our time of standing pat, of protecting narrow interests and putting off unpleasant decisions - that time has surely passed. Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America.
For everywhere we look, there is work to be done. The state of the economy calls for action, bold and swift, and we will act - not only to create new jobs, but to lay a new foundation for growth. We will build the roads and bridges, the electric grids and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together. We will restore science to its rightful place, and wield technology's wonders to raise healthcare's quality and lower its cost. We will harness the sun and the winds and the soil to fuel our cars and run our factories. And we will transform our schools and colleges and universities to meet the demands of a new age. All this we can do. And all this we will do.
Now, there are some who question the scale of our ambitions - who suggest that our system cannot tolerate too many big plans. Their memories are short. For they have forgotten what this country has already done; what free men and women can achieve when imagination is joined to common purpose, and necessity to courage.
What the cynics fail to understand is that the ground has shifted beneath them - that the stale political arguments that have consumed us for so long no longer ap***. The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works - whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified. Where the answer is yes, we intend to move forward. Where the answer is no, programs will end. And those of us who manage the public's dollars will be held to account - to spend wisely, reform bad habits and do our business in the light of day - because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and their government.
Nor is the question before us whether the market is a force for good or ill. Its power to generate wealth and expand freedom is unmatched, but this crisis has reminded us that without a watchful eye, the market can spin out of control - and that a nation cannot prosper long when it favours only the prosperous. The success of our economy has always depended not just on the size of our gross domestic product, but on the reach f; on our ability to extend opportunity to every willing heart - not out of charity, but because it is the surest route to our common good.
As for our common defence, we reject as false the choice between our safety and our ideals. Our founding fathers, faced with perils we can scarcely imagine, drafted a charter to assure the rule of law and the rights of man, a charter expanded by the blood of generations. Those ideals still light the world, and we will not give them up for expedience's sake. And so to all other peoples and governments who are watching today, from the grandest capitals to the small village where my father was born: know that America is a friend of each nation and every man, woman and child who seeks a future of peace and dignity, and that we are ready to lead once more.

Most people would like to be popular with others, but not everyone can achieve this goal. What is the secret to popularity? In fact, it is very simple. The first step is to improve our appearance. We should always make sure that we stay in good shape and dress well. When we are healthy and well-groomed, we will not only look better but also feel better. In addition, we should smile and appear friendly. After all, our facial expression is an important part of our appearance. If we can do this, people will be attracted to our good looks and impressed by our confidence.
Another important step is developing more consideration for others. We should always put others first and place their interests before our own. 晚上，听写没有及格的人都被留了下来，我也在其中。班上几个成绩不好的人幸灾乐祸地说：“你也被留下来了，真是太好了!"我鼻子一酸，眼泪都快流出来了，可转念一想，这种结果是我自己选择的，如果我之前准备好现在就不会被留在这里了，于是就努力地背公式，追后凭自己的努力过了关。这让我明白，成功是为有准备的人而留的，没有准备的人只能被逐出局!

可现在，这朵荷花却要遭受摧残。暴风雨可不懂得怜香惜玉，它们只知道破坏。于是，这朵荷花不得不面对她的“敌人”。风雨来势汹汹，整个湖都开始激起波浪。一旁的杂草早就被刮得抬不起头，好像已经屈服在了风威之下。荷花也好似挡不住这攻势，弯下腰去。我的心也提了起来：难道荷花就这么倒下了？风雨也好像力竭了，停了一会儿，那荷花便一下子又立了起来，我也松了一口气。可风雨又怒了，再次发起怒来，让那荷花枝弯成了一条弧线。可当风一停息，它就又顽强地挺过身来，傲然挺立。这样的战争不知持续了多久。终于，那风力竭了，那雨消退了，乌云也溜走了，只留下了太阳照在那仍残留着几滴水珠的荷花身上，耀眼夺目。

there are obvious reasons why some western holidays are so popular in china. on the one hand, some of the western holidays which we chinese don’t have are reasonable and meaningful, such as father’s day and april fool’s day etc. on the other hand,the prevalence of globalization enables western culture to prevail in china. overwhelmed by such a trend,chinese unconsiciously get involved in western holidays and culture.
